Needed it for a Roman day at school for a Year 3 child.The outer layer is foam so not sure it will last a long time but it got through the day unscathed.Thought it was a little expensive at fifteen pound but it was the best one fulfilled by amazon at the last minute and it arrived next day with prime.We added a sword and shield and he made a helmet at school.As with what a lot of others have said the trousers come up to his chest so had to roll them round lots of times, but he didn't complain of them falling down throughout the day.Of the options that were available fulfilled by amazon, I would definitely recommend this one.

Bought this for my son for his 'Romans' theme day at school. He is a very tall 8.5 year old so I went for large (as this is for age 8-10). When it arrived the trousers part of the costume are actually as tall as my son. I am 41 and 5ft 11 - it fits me a treat! Lord only knows what size child they measured when sizing this costume.We managed to use the top part with a pair of jeans so all was not lost. Actual costume is ok. The usual sort of nasty polyester for the burgundy tunic top and trousers are so sheer you can see through them. That said, the day was a success and my son was happy with what he wore compared to some others.

Terrible quality and sizing.. I bought age 8-9... the trousers were too big for my 32 year old boyfriend it was hilarious. The ties on the tunic were all ripped and one even fell off.. couldn’t send back as needed next day for school Roman day. Can’t believe I wasted my money on this product. Absolutely gutted

The trousers were fab and covered his shoes nicely. The armour over the tunic was difficult for my child to put on / take off and required an adult to help tie and untie it. He looked great for Roman day though!

My son loved this, he is an average height and weight 10 year old and it fits like a dream. The packaging was damaged when it arrived but the costume was OK. He is so glad as no one else in his class has one like this. And I'm glad as it was such a bargain, costing less to buy than if I had to give up what precious little time we mums have to make one. Would definitely recommend Rubies.
