Works Great!
3M Bondo All-Purpose Putty is a versatile, two-part filler ideal for repairing a variety of surfaces like wood, metal, masonry, and drywall, offering fast, non-shrink, and water-resistant repairs. For best results, start with a small amount of hardener to avoid rapid curing, especially on hot days, and ensure the surface is clean and dry before application. Mix the putty and hardener thoroughly on a non-porous surface until uniform, then quickly apply using a putty knife or plastic spreader, working in layers for deep repairs if needed. Bondo becomes sandable in about 15 minutes, allowing for smooth finishing, but curing time may vary with temperature. Clean tools immediately with acetone and store the product in a cool, dry place with tightly sealed lids. With proper preparation and technique, Bondo delivers durable, professional-quality repairs for both interior and exterior projects.

Amazing Product - If You Even Partially Follow Directions
For those of you familiar with Bondo filler in any form, don't hesitate to use this product... you'll be happy to know it's like the good ol' product you're accustomed to. "Have at it", as they say. For those of you that are even moderately handy and can follow some basic directions, you'll also do well. Almost all the 1- to 3-star reviews are obviously from folks that mis-used the product. They're even a bit humorous and worth a read if you need a smile. My primary recent use has been to fill and fix rotted wood on the exterior of the house - primarily windows. Common sense will tell you to remove all the rotten wood first. If there is some wood that is still suspect, use a wood hardening product. When you're ready to use Bondo, know that while the product is fairly thick, it can flow a little until it sets, so you may need to form a "dam" of sorts to keep it from migrating for a few minutes. When mixing it, follow directions and scoop some out... don't mix it in the can! Also, don't overdo the hardener... and if your first batch still hardens too quick, reduce the amount of hardener used, per the instructions. It really is not hard to use as long as you have a bit of common sense and can read. Also, be confident that you will get better at using it as you go along! I've tried many wood fillers, and this is my go-to product. For finishing, I use relatively course files, shapers, and sandpaper to get it close to desired shape, and then finish it with 80-120 grit paper. Sand/shape at a moderate pace so as not to clog your paper or tools... this material is actually quite easy to sand and shape as long as you don't go crazy and sand too fast or use too fine a grit. Bottom line - buy it and use with confidence - the product is very capable of enabling you to restore your exterior wood pieces.

Great for filling larger areas on wood
I got this to do some repair work for a friend's wood party/event props to fill some larger chunks. Regular putties and spackles would not have been the best choice for many reasons so I decided to try this Bondo product. I have to say that it works rather well and it should hold up longer than other products. It was easy to mix and spread, but I have to say that you will need to work quickly when using this product. It does start curing rather fast, I would say the 3-5 minute range before it starts setting. Make sure you have everything you need to make any repairs set out and ready to go before mixing this. Also make sure any pre work is done before mixing. Then mix the product, spread it where needed and then let it sit a couple hours. After that you can start any sanding that might be needed, and it does sand pretty well for what it is. I would recommend this product for many repair needs due to its ease of use and durability. If you have ever used regular Bondo for cars, this is basically the same thing so it works the same.

Excellent for Household Repairs
Bondo putty requires a little experimentation to get the hang of, but works incredibly well once you get used to it. The two part system and mixing in a hardener might seem like a hassle compared to one material putties and similar products. However, being able to choose the amount of hardener you mix in is a huge advantage. This lets you choose the "stiffness" of the putty - you can get from quite stiff (dryish peanut butter) to very liquid (Nutella-ish) depending on your application. This also affects the dry time - stiff mixtures harden very quickly (a couple min) - thinner, more liquid ones give you more time to work or allow doing multiple small jobs with the same batch. Clean-up is pretty easy and straightforward. The cured putty sands well (though does clog sandpaper - just hit it with a stiff brush to clear the putty dust out). It also takes paint well. Two coats and it looks fine. The tub here is also an incredible value - a little goes a long way, and this gives you plenty of material to mix many batches. It also lasts longer without drying out than some products you might use for similar applications like wood putty.

It's not just for cars there's a lot of cool stuff you can do with this
Use this to put on my countertops to give a stone type finish before I painted an acrylic to them and it worked awesome.

Excellent for woodpecker holes on PVC
Used this to repair woodpecker holes on PVC lumber. Why the woodpecker is going after PVC lumber over pressure treated wood below it is beyond me, but whatever this fixed the holes easily.

I only used this once. Too difficult and messy.
My granite countertop was missing a small piece on the underside so I used a little bit of this product to fill in the gap. I think it looks OK but it was messy to work with and hard to mix. I won’t be using it again. I tossed the rest. I just could not think of anything else to use it for. It also smelled toxic. Almost gave me a headache.
