LINE 6 HX STOMP 990602405 Compact Professional Guitar Processor Pedal (Black) HX Stomp™ is a professional-grade multi-effects processor that delivers the sound of Helix® amps, cabs, and effects in an ultra-compact pedal. Use it as a “super stompbox,” a backup or travel rig, an add-on tone expander when combined with other modelers, an audio interface – or even a complete guitar or bass rig. The same HX Modeling technology that powers the flagship Helix guitar processor enables HX Stomp to run up to six processing blocks simultaneously, making it the most powerful and flexible stompbox-sized multi-effects processor available. HX Stomp is easy to operate, however, thanks to its simple-but-powerful controls, 320 x 240-pixel color LCD, and capacitive-sensing footswitches with color-coded LED rings. External control via MIDI and optional expression pedal and footswitch control provide additional flexibility, as does I/O that may be configured for sophisticated routing such as simultaneously feeding an amp and a FOH mixer, 4-cable method operation with an amplifier, and studio re-amping. Along with over 300 amps, cabs, and effects – even a looper – HX Stomp includes a legacy library of effects from Line 6® M-Series pedals, as well as from classic Line 6 stompbox modelers such as the DL4™, MM4™, FM4™, and DM4™. There are also presets created specifically for bass players, as well as individual bass amp and cab models. The free HX Edit app offers preset librarian functionality and third-party IR loading. Completely has changed the way I interact with guitar and bass. I love having it on my desk for practice sessions. Also don’t buy a tuner. The onboard one is awesome.

Great stompbox modeler
I've only just received this and I'm still just figuring it out. I bought it to be my "bass rig" for the band I play bass in, but I can see this playing a role in my other bands where I play guitar.

Quality Materials, Built to last and tons of different options for you to experiment with
Great so far. I am a bass player looking for a complete pedal and this does it all. From Distortions to Equalizers and Compressors. It easy to use and program once you understand how it all works. You can add an extra 2 pedals to it! The cost is great, if you think about buying a quality Distortion ,Compressor, Tuner and Equalizer then you have already cover the cost of this unit. Plus you get Cab and Head sounds as well as Fuzz, Wah an 8 chain build area ( you can add different effect and cab/heads to a preset and save it to use on one of your footswitches and its only the size of 2.5 regular pedals.

The end of guitar amps for me.
Once you learn how to use this thing, the sky is the limit. I recommend downloading some presets and ir's. You'll want a good starting point and the stock presets aren't the greatest in my opinion. Definitely experiment with some third party IR's but don't overlook the included cabs and microphones. Many many tones can be made from those alone. Then you have all the amp sims plus the amp/cab combos.... I've found the built in cabs are actually really good. Mostly because of all the different mics you can choose from for each cab. Literally any guitar tone you can think of, you can sculpt it on this thing.The effects, reverbs and delays are plentiful and great sounding. The wahs, whammy and pitch shifters are a lot of fun too if you get an optional expression pedal. (I recommend the M-audio expression pedal. It works good and its cheap)I can't say how it sounds plugged into an amp as a "multi effects" unit because I use amp modeling and run direct into either, a powered studio monitor, headphones, or a 12" Headrush frfr speaker. I would assume the hx stomp would make a great multi effect unit for an amp setup based on the functionality and quality of the effects.It's built like a tank and has mind blowing power for something so small. It's worth it's price absolutely. Support is top notch.No cons. Only positives.*if you're looking for a desktop stand for the hx stomp, a small bookstand works great. You can see how I use it in my pictures.
