Review: Amazing, brilliant, fast, easy to use - The build quality is excellent, it’s extremely easy to use and prints good quality objects very fast. Admittedly I had a cheap slow XYZ (but very reliable) printer before, but the difference in build quality, size and speed is huge. Small projects that took 10 to 15 hrs on my old printer are taking around 2 or 3. Small objects that took 2 or 3 hrs are completed in 20 to 30 minutes or less. In part this is because I find I have much less need for supports so the increase in speed is largely the rate at which it extruded but also because you need less supports and are using a lot less filament. I suspect I get away with less supports because the printer is so solid that there is very little vibration of the build plate compared to the XYZ, also the cooling fans which some claim are noisy (I think they are fine) probably cool the laid down filament much more quickly and the machine can therefore print bigger unsupported overhangs without the need for support structures. Would I recommend it ? Absolutely this printer is so much better than I expected and it’s speed and build size means I can try ideas, prototype and modify an item without wasting days. With my old printer I might leave something printing for 12 hrs only to have it fail or fall over on the build plate in the last few layers. So far the M5 has functioned perfectly, with no failures even when printing much more complex items than I have ever tried before.
Review: M5 ITS FAST clue is in the name - I have been looking for a new 3d printer for a long time. Ive also been printing a long time. I've had a few printers over the years. Several different brands and done days and hours of research. The Ankermake M5 is the printer of the moment and in my opinion nothing comes close. with Auto bed levelling, wifi, camera, magnetic print bed, touch screen, app to control it or Mac/windows software and speed its an awesome bit of kit for the beginner to semi. the slicer needs work but it works fine if you don't know to much about slicing. its incredibly sleek and very well engineered and built with quality materials. I can't believe it's not a £1000+ machine. only downside its quite loud compared with a Prusa. it has to powerful cooling fans and the noise is funnelled into to an outlet Shute's at force to cool your print. overall I can handle a bit of noise for the pure speed of the machine. very happy with my new machine.

## Features

- Upgraded PowerBoost 3.0 Firmware: The new PowerBoost 3.0 offers smoother output, increased acceleration, and optimized toolhead efficiency versus the previous version--all without sacrificing print quality. (It's highly recommended that users download AnkerMake Studio to unlock the full capabilities of the PowerBoost 3.0 upgrade.)
- Precise 0.1 mm Detail: Your prints are now more precise than ever thanks to the new ultra-direct extruder and integrated die-cast aluminum alloy structure. Even at higher speeds, you'll never sacrifice stability or print quality.
- 7x7 Auto-Leveling System: Advanced algorithms and a built-in leveling sensor calculate a virtual height map to ensure exceptionally accurate first layers.
- Error Detection System: M5's extra processing power and intelligent camera calculate the perfect printing path to keep your model matched to your design. Plus, auto-pause and real-time notifications help to detect errors before they become failed prints or wasted filament.
- Integrated Die-Cast Aluminum Alloy: The die-cast aluminum alloy structure and Z-axis design reduce M5's center of gravity. This stabilizes the printer and unlocks higher accelerations and blazing-fast speeds.
- Large Printing Surface: At 235x235x250mm, M5 offers a printing surface big enough to handle large 3D models and multi-part printing runs.
- Remote Control For Multiple Devices: No matter where inspiration strikes, you'll be ready with remote access to your printer via the AnkerMake app, AnkerMake Studio, or desertcart Alexa. Plus, you can print models directly from your phone using the AnkerMake app's 3D model library.
- Easy to Assemble: Go from unboxing to printing in just 15 minutes. All tools for assembly are included.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's in the box? Does it come with any filament? I’ve seen reference to a cover but not seen one itemised, does it have one?**
A: Tools, 2 nozzle 0.4 mm and a coil of 250G of white PLA+. It doesn't come with any cover and not sure it is itemized.

**Q: Is the software provided with the printer compatible with the ouput from a scanner?**
A: The M5 comes with Ankermake’s own slicer which will accept a range of standard 3D model file types. However you need to use a 3D modeller such as Tinkercad (which is free) or one of the more complex licensed programs which you pay for. I am not clear what sort of “Scanner” you are talking about, if you mean a 3D scanner or any App that utilises your phone as a basic scanner, then it will undoubtedly be able to generate a file that would work in 3D modelling programs or directly with any 3D printer. If you mean a flat bed scanner / printer/scanner, then it is possible to generate an OUTLINE of the object and convert it into a form that can then be extruded in 3D modelling software. There are many YouTube videos explaining how to do this but essentially you save your scanned object outline as a .PNG file and then use a free online service such as Adobe express to convert it to a .SLV File that can be imported into 3D modelling software. As far as I am aware it’s much more difficult to do this if you want an output from the scanner that has a lot of complex internal detail

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product - Fantastic support from Anker
*by M***R on 21 May 2023*

I rarely leave reviews online, but felt this one was deserved. The printer is everything it claims to be, easy to use and super fast. The first unit I ordered stopped working after the first print, but one of the advantages of this brand is the discord community who was able to guide me on how to troubleshoot the issue. Unfortunately that didn’t work and discord users pointed me to Anker Support. I spoke to Jack @ support and must admit I rarely have had someone so helpful, reviewed the issue, and when he saw that I wasn’t able to fix it, a replacement was sent with 2 days! A product is only as good as the backing from its company and in that case, I have to say well done Anker.
