Perfect!

I have many Aeotec / Smartthings sensors, the build quality of these sensors is always brilliant. They are a little pricey, so I have tried other well known brands to help keep costs down. However the build quality of these is so much higher than the other brands. I will definitely buy again.Additionally this sensor uses a CR2 battery rather than the button cell batteries. Whilst I haven't had this long enough to test battery life I expect it to last a long time which is based on my experience of Aeotec devices that use the larger CR123A batteries.Setting up the device is a breeze as it always is. Put the hub into pairing mode, pull the battery tab, name the device and give it a location. Simple and painless.I have done some initial testing (as I always do when I set up a sensor for the first time) the sensor responds instantly to a puddle of water and also to water droplets on the top of the sensor.Bottom line: buy a quality product like this or buy twice!

Identical quality and styling to the original Samsung versions

These sensors are really nice. They combine a compact form factor with a very functional unit that both senses water as well as temperature, which is a great combination. The only downsides are that they don't have the long range offered in newer protocols like LoRa, and the batteries they use are expensive to replace. The batteries do last a long time, but they aren't cheap when they do need to be replaced.A non-standard usage I did as well -- I created my own "cable" leak sensor by soldering moisture cable leads to one of the two sets of exposed sensor contacts on one of these. It worked great! I'd love to see a native cable-based sensor that works with these, but it is nice that these are not too hard to modify given their design.Aeotec seems to have fully picked up the ball from Samsung on the product lines. I wish they'd bring the prices down some, but it is nice that the Samsung product line didn't get terminated altogether when Samsung elected to cease selling them.

Must have for bathrooms or wherever a water issue could occur.

I installed this water sensor in my bathroom, and it's been a game-changer. It connects perfectly with my SmartThings setup and sends immediate alerts if it detects any leaks. I have 9 of these, purchased over the last year with one in every bathroom behind the toilet under the water inlet, under the fridge, near the dishwasher, in my hot water drains (Texas home in my attic), and under my AC condensers (Texas home in my attic). Includes both top and bottom sensing and temperature monitoring. It's given me great peace of mind. The only minor issue is battery life of less than one year from past experiences, but overall, I’m really satisfied!

Just what I needed from a sensor: reliable and doesn't drain battery fast

Purchased about a year ago. Got this along ThirdReality one and Centralite one. This one is the most expensive of the three, but has the most features, looks nice and retained the most battery over a year of use: 76%, compared to 42% in ThirdReality and 0 for Centralite.Centralite one was the first to drain its battery but it also was located the furthest from the "base"Between the 3 I'd go with Aeotec, since it's smaller, more functional and easier to work with. You get almost 2 of ThirdReality for 1 Aeotec tho, so maybe waiting for a deal is best :)

It's not waterproof ... 💯 Self-inflicted

Setting up with Habitat was pretty straight forward.I wanted to use it to turn off a dehumidifier when/if a drain backed up. Worked like a charm swapping from dry to wet and back during testing. So I wanted to test that if it would function when the water level raised over the contacts, so I placed it in a container and allowed water to slowly immerse it.Should have thought that through more carefully ... The innards of the sensor became wet and now it is no longer functioning. There is another version that is about the same price (it is already on order) that (should) be submersible, but without the temperature sensor; upgrading $10 or so will get a immersible probe with temperature and humidity sensors on the 'dry' end.Note: Take the unstarred features with a grain of salt, I used it for less that an hour.

Easy ti setup and works great

I was replacing another water sensor I kept in my basement as it didn’t stay connected. This was very easy to setup and when I tested it, it worked perfectly.
