Both the DTI and the mag stand look very well made. The DTI has a smart storage case that also holds an alternative back. There are 2 batteries supplied, one installed and a spare. I chose the 40kG magnet which is a little weak really, but it holds onto my lathe bed without any issues. I will definitely buy more of this brand in the future. P.S. Delivery was also quicker than expected.

This is a great little tool for helping diagnose vehicular vibrations, i was experiencing vibration when braking lightly at high speeds and having recently installed 380mm 2 piece brake disks i wasn't convinced the brakes were the actual cause. I used this to check the run out of the discs which confirmed they were infact running true. Alot of brake disc manufacturers now state in their installation instructions that the run out must be checked on install fir warranty reasons. This tool is perfect for that. It feels well made and is accurate enough for its intended use. I've used it to help centre the tail stock on my lathe with great success too.

Just what I needed and good quality as well

Good value and easy to use, I bought this to measure the free play on a Mercedes C-Class front wheel bearing which should be 0.01mm - the limit of this device's resolution but that is a common factor even in gauges 10x the price. The large digital display is easy to read, and while the device casing feels light, I suspect it will withstand drops and knocks better than an analogue model. The articulated arm allows secure positioning on the brake disc with the needle positioned centrally on the stub axle and with everything secure, the push-pull test while tightening the hub worked perfectly. A strong word? But the truth. My car's wheels spin almost silently, and it coasts really well, suggesting the previous setup was not quite there. I also used the gauge to measure run-out/uneven wear on the discs, and can think of many other potential uses. My only complaint is that there's no storage for the support. A plastic case for the gauge - and a spare battery - come in the package but the magnetic arm and clamp you'll have to find a way to keep clean and away from things like ABS sensors or rings that may be damaged by strong magnets. As a one-shot solution it's cheap enough for feeling confident that a repair has been done correctly, but I am sure it will last for many more precision adjustments and measurements. If you just want to measure differences in a surface or accuracy of rotation quickly and easily - this will do the job. I don't think it's up to really precise engineering needs, but for automotive work you don't need to spend more.

The magnet on the stand is good and strong. I like the single knob adjustment on the stand. Clever design. I use the stand with a dial indicator not the digital one. The digital indicator I’ve fixed to a lathe for taking a measurement like a homemade budget DRO rather than checking runout. The digital gauge seems very consistent and accurate. Easy to use too

I use mine to square parts on the milling machine or to centre stock on my lathe. The screen refreshes fast enough to not make this painful and the 0.01mm precision is great for my needs. The Indicator is no bigger than an analogue Indicator and holds firm when tightened up. I can't speak to battery life yet except to say that my first purchase is still going 9 months later. For the price I think this is good value for money and comparable to analogue Indicators

Works perfectly well, not 100% sure on the actual measurement precision, but the purpose is to show difference. So as long as you measure apples against apples it’s great. For the price you won’t get any better.
