Great support for EDS or aging hands
Really well built for the size and price! It is lasting for several months and still in pristine condition. It supports books of different sizes and backings without issues and without damaging these. My partner suffers from EDS and she finds this really helpful and easy to use. It is small enough to keep with the books in a pouch and expands into a full size book holder. Will upload some pictures and a video once I get it back from my partner!

Bought for someone who shakes
Purchased this for my mum who was recently diagnosed with Dystonia. She has loved reading all of her life but has struggled the past few years with shaky hands, So i looked for a solution to try and help her!It does the job perfectly for what she wants, it is a little fiddly to turn pages but once you get the hang of it, it's ok to use. I don't think this will suit all books but it suits her for what she wants. In terms of price, I think it should be around £5 - it doesn't feel like its that strong but it is portable and folds away which is another plus point.

Great for paperbacks.
I've bought quite a few of these over the years, both for myself and as presents for people. It is a life saver for those who suffer discomfort whilst holding books. They're so light and handy, easy to fold and unfold and slip pages out and back in. Pop the book in when it's still loose then click it into place, adjusting the arms. You can use it folded as a bookmark to pop into a bag if out and about and it rarely breaks the spines of my books-a pet peeve which doesn't seem to bother a lot of people but if you like to keep you books and keep them in good condition, this is one of the better book holders on the market as it creates a V to support the spine rather than a flat surface to squash it up to-pages akimbo rather than doing the splits. It will accommodate most paperbacks, although very small ones can spring out a bit, and also not too big hardbacks-don't try to squeeze in a larger, tighter fitting one as the pages are likely to tear a little when turning the page. It won't fit a decent size hardback of the Stephen King or Leatherbound Classics ilk-One thing I really wish they'd do, is a larger size for substantial hardback books such as these which are just too thick and heavy for these to accommodate. Overall a great book holder which lasts well, is a good price, is small enough to carry around and saves your hands from the the pain and strain of holding a book. The price is great for an inexpensive but thoughtful gift too. Definitely recommended.

Not great for paperback books
The book holder-opener is ok, but nothing more. Does it hold a book open quite a bit? Yeah. Does it hold it open flat? No. Does it hold it open enough to read the book by looking down from above? Not really. The success of it depends on the binding of the book. Hardback books are typically threadbound and will lie flat easily; the device works well in such cases. But paperback books tend to be perfect-bound (glued) at the spine, and 'want' to close; the device doesn't work quite so well on such books, and the pages on one side remain very curved, making it hard to read no-handed, which is the point of the device. It's worth a couple if quid I guess. But it's priced at £6, so not really a bargain.

Works perfectly
Makes reading a book and having a cuppa at the same time a breeze. Holds the pages securely, and folds away flat when not being used. Seems to be made good and strong, so should last a long time. Great for travelling as well.

Expensive for what it is
Holds open certain sized books - not those on the larger size. Opening out flat on a table either the front or back of the book tends to flip in the air. Book standing upright is ok. The gimble is at £6.99 an expensive piece of flimsy plastic. Better quality, stronger plastic with thicker arms that allows for larger books would have been preferable. I’m not expecting this to last very long - that is, if I can be bothered to use it.

No one’s doing it this well
This is a flimsy piece of plastic, so it’s not without its flaws, but this is the only book holder that I’ve found that’s practical in the way this is. It’s perfect for reading in bed, but also while doing other things where you need to keep stepping away from the book, because you don’t need to keep closing and opening it.A downside I’ve seen from other reviews is the difficulty in turning pages. 🤷♀️ There is a motion of page turning that takes some getting used to, but it doesn’t take long to figure out and after a while you can do it without thinking. Another downside is that it’s a flimsy piece of plastic, so I can see repetitive bending being a problem, and it doesn’t do well with really tightly bound books, but for the price I think it’s fine.
