PQI A100 Air Drive Wireless SD Card Reader

It seemed like a good idea and looks great - very small and neat. However it does not work as it should and as it is advertised.1. It will not transfer files from the device onto the Ipad using the app. It goes through the motions but no files appear. They are standard JPEG files.2. When viewing JPEG files on the SD card through the app viewer the app crashes.3. The app instructions on the PQI website bear little resemblance to the app. It looks as though they updated the app but not the instructions4. When contacting PQI hey do eventually respond when pushed but only ask for more information. When that is given that they reply and I quote"Thanks for your kindly reply.We have asked our engineers to check as the similar problems.If we have any update, we will infrom you as soon as possible.Sorry for any inconveneince and thank you very much."I doubt if I will hear anything more and have a useless piece of kit on my hands.

Came across this by accident, and researched it extensively before buying. In short, it's a very small SD card reader from which you can stream films, music and photos - wirelessly to a maximum of five devices over ITS OWN miniature Wifi network. This connectivity wasn't made clear in the item description. Thus, amazingly, you can use it anywhere as it's self-sufficient. First, you have to download a free app which I did to our two iPads and my daughter's Nabi (now that the Nabi can access the amazon App Store). Switch it on, then sync in wifi settings. Open app, then stream. It's that easy! Amazingly, you can stream different media (ie different films) to each device - simultaneously! I feel that this will depend on the speed of your memory card. You can buy a good 32gb Class 10 memory card on amazon for £16.If this product had been available when I purchased my 64gb ipad, I could've saved a couple of hundred quid by getting a 16gb and storing all of my media on relatively cheap SD cards insteadI don't review unless I'm impressed, and honestly this is one of the most useful gadgets I've ever purchased. Absolutely brilliant!!

Dissappointed as audiobooks MP4 format is seen as a music file so it dumps everything into music...Still plays stuff but come on guys this is an international standard add this and 5 stars...Without this 2 stars unfortunately.

The device works great, it's dead easy to use and a smart little product, however, i dont get what i am supposed to do with it.I downloaded the app which allows me to upload it to my iphone, but once it is on the iphone, i can't save the video to camera roll, can't upload to cloud or dropbox, can't send it to facebook, i can't access it on the computer when the iphone is plugged in so what the hell do i do with the video i have got?(this is all under the assumption that i dont want to keep the footage on my card or iphone because i won't have regular access to a wifi network whilst travelling)

Eventually it does but PQI have altered their IPAD App and have not included the new APP / User manual documentation on their web site and don't plan to do so in the near future. Nevertheless persevering with trying options to use in the end the product works very well in combination with a SD Card I purchased at the same time. Cantionary note - take note of the file types that PQI state can be used - don't assume all formats are available

Constant error message: pqi air drive network disabled because internet connection is slowThis item does not seem to fully function consistently with Android 4.3. It does seem to connect to Android 4.1.1 without any problems. I would have expected this item to connect to all Android OS not a particular one (especially the older one). The software from PQI has not been updated to deal with newer Android Operating System's such as 4.3 and when writing to PQI I still have not retrieved any feedback. So I would say that the customer service is either very slow or non existence.This is not an item I would ever buy again. If you wish to purchase a decent Wireless SD Card reader I would suggest a Kingston Technology MLW221 Mobilelite Wireless Reader. It's on Amazon, but it is a lot chunkier than the Air Drive. To be honest i feel annoyed by the Air Drives ability to function as the Airdrive is portable (credit card sized) and is technically a very really good idea. If the company resolved the systems ability to connect to other devices then it would be a very very good device to have. Maybe this device will work with Android Kit Kat, but i wouldn't place money on it.

I have now established a good library of films, music etc. on SD cards that we can all use when on holiday. We each associate with its wireless network and can watch whatever we want from the files avaliable on the SD card. Simple to use Android App . Great product

Instructions insufficient to aid understanding re Apple Mini Retina ios7. A week after it arrived through my letterbox still not able to download photos from the memory card to the camera roll . Same thing applies to Music and document files . I cannot transfer files from the memory card to the underlying Ios file system. No 'open in option ' so I can view files in app of my choiceThe PQ1 website has no customer contact /feedback number or email address . The FAQ's insufficient too brief to cover my issuesRemain a little disappointed as it does not perform as advertised

Ho provato su 4 dispositivi android diversi ma app S+flash non esiste. Le altre app di pqi non vedono il dispositivo, eppure se mi collego tramite indirizzo ip vedo i file sulla scheda sd. È possibile ricosegnare il prodotto pur averlo aperto? Oppure qualcuno mi da consigli. Grazie

Acheté pour transférer les photos de mon appareil photo sur mon téléphone sous Android. 2 constats:- l'application S+Flash n'est pas présente sous Android, obligé de fouiller sur le net pour la trouver- possible de visionner les photos via l'application mais impossible de les télécharger via l'applicationIl est toujours possible de passer par l'interface Web du disque (192.168.2.1) mais la présentation est horrible et le téléchargement rendu impossible car fastidieux....Donc au final: matériel bien mais application totalement inutile sous Android rendant le tout extrêmement décevant

Scatto sempre in RAW+jpg e tendo a viaggiare leggera, mi porto solo iPad e macchina fotografica, e stavo cercando un sistema che mi permettesse di trasferire solo i jpg, senza riempire inutilmente la memoria del tablet.Questo gingillino è l'ideale: è grande più o meno come una carta di credito, anche se decisamente più spesso, ha una batteria interna che lo mantiene attivo per circa 5 ore e uno slot in cui inserire una card SD fino a 32 GB. Accendendolo si attiva un hotspot wifi a cui collegare fino a 5 apparecchi (tablet, smartphone, pc) e, attraverso uno speciale software scaricabile gratuitamente, si può vedere, copiare, aprire ecc. il contenuto della SD. Io non ho provato la funzione streaming, ma sono riuscita a copiare i file jpeg che mi interessavano, anche se l'operazione è un po' più laboriosa del previsto e le foto finiscono tutte insieme nel rullino, invece che in eventi separati, come avviene con una normale importazione.Quindi via una stella per questi difetti e per il fatto che la chiusura dello slot SD deve per forza essere aperta con l'aiuto di un qualche attrezzo.Io lo ricomprerei subito, in ogni caso, perché è la migliore soluzione al mio problema, l'uso è semplicissimo, il design e i materiali di qualità, e occupa pochissimo spazio.

Très pratique, pour l'instant j'utilise une carte 32 go et c'est idéal pour le transfert des photos. Pas besoin du câble Apple qui fini par abîmer la prise dock de mon iPad .

Joli, bien fini. Mais impossible, avec mon Samsung Android de lire la carte mémoire insérée. Je vais retourner le produit. Dommage.
