The mouse takes 2 triple A batteries, not supplied, and saves battery power by sleeping when not in use, just move and it wakes up. A Bluetooth USB is supplied and it connects to the mouse immediately. There's a DPi button above the thumb so you can change the speed of the mouse icon moving across the screen. A red light below your thumb flashes to indicate the speed has been changed. If I did, apologies for the double-rating, but I feel I should revise my initial 100% impressed view. My reason now for doing so is that there's a slightly more expensive version from the same manufacturer. I'd used that one for a year or so before it started to miss clicks. I consider a year of intensive daily use to be decent product life for a 20 quid mouse, so was happy to buy another Perixx. I saved a fiver on this one, and it was a false economy. This one is as comfortable as its big brother, but its tracking is nowhere near as accurate. It's also a little too light, which makes one-pixel nudges difficult. Perixx's £19.99 mouse is far more accurate and usable. As I'm recommending an alternative from the same manufacturer, I feel justified in suggesting a different product. My advice, search Amazon and spend the extra fiver on the Perixx PERIMICE-718 Left Handed Mouse, Ergonomic Design, Large, Wireless, 5 Buttons, 800/1200/1600 DPI.
