Q: How well does it hold vertically ? I see it doesn't have the bottom forks to keep phone from sliding out.. how strong is the phone clamp ?

It has a tight grip on the phone and I have never had it slide down even on rough roads. The lack of the "forks" gives more flexibility on phone placement and frees up the bottom of the phone, especially on curved screens.

Q: Is there a video of it clamping to the phone so I can see how it works

There is a catch. You have to use use the recording device attached to the Universal Ball. It matters where you anchor your Universal Ball because iPhone, GoPro, etc., have different lenses - so the recording will be different. Please test, test, and test before your project. :D
