SHARPAL 127N Dual-Grit Diamond Sharpening Stone with Leather Strop

Arrived today 11/12/2025 and this is one review I must recommend,I was excited opening the Dimond sharpening ‘device and boy was I pleased with my purchase.This sharpening sharp all is beyond amazing I took out my dullest knife and in a matter of minutes it was like a lance.Truthfully if you are someone who likes sharp knives this Sharpal is something you should own. It’s handy to use with immediate results I’ve given it a five star rating and I could give it further five star plus I was blown away how amazing it sharpened all my knifes to razor sharp in just over thirty five minutes.Trust me on this well designed sharpener with the strop as a sheath to keep it safe. No hotel cafe or restaurant should be without this amazing well designed sharpener which you could slip into a pocket or hooked onto the countertop where youn carry out all your preparations.

A useful tool to keep your knives sharp when out in the field. The leather sheath/strop is well made. Unfortunately, the diamond coating is already wearing off on mine, I will probably buy another one and make sure to use it very lightly as it is handy to keep in the kit bag.

Bought this to sharpen up my 10 inch shears as I was using a file previously to restore the edge, the difference is night and day!! Very effective at sharpening and incredible value and quality. I was familiar with sharpal stones after buying their diamond plate for my kitchen knives, this is exactly the same but a mini version, easily fitting in a pocket or backpack (or toolbox in my case) Very good little item and well worth the asking price!

I bought this to sharpen my sickle / mini scythe in the field and it does a lovely job. It is comfortable to hold and very easy to control giving confidence and a great result. It was very hard to get out of the leather sheath the first time, but after a few times, it has become easier and now just fits well with no fear that it could fall out. The proposal in the instructions that you use the leather sheath and some paste to strop the blade seems daft as this would mean that you get paste on your pockets - it would be better to have a strop added to the sheath and then doubled over and secured with a popper - this would be the only improvement I could suggest. I am very happy to recommend this diamond stone to anyone.

Good quality, useful tool.

I cannot stand a dull blade, whether it is in the shop, kitchen, or outdoors. I really like my Smith's combination dual grit sharpening stone but it is wearing out and I never needed to sharpen a fish hook. I heard good things about Sharpal and their products so decided to try this. I am very pleased with the performance. There is a noticeable difference between the fine and coarse grits. The grit seems very durable and I am happy with how well it puts an edge on both carbon steel and stainless. I was even able to use it to dress the edge on a ceramic knife. I like how this feels in my hand. It feels secure and I don't have any problem holding it steady as I sharpen whatever blade needs it. It is super versatile because you don't need a complex setup on a bench or anything. If you need stability you can brace it against a firm surface like a countertop, tree stump, a knee, or whatever. I am very careful when sharpening. I try and maintain an even angle down the whole length of the edge and the shape of this stone's handle makes that fairly easy. I like the leather sheath/strop. I have not rubbed any compound into the leather so it technically isn't doing anything but removing the burr. I like this stone. I will buy more to have them in tool boxes and in camping gear.

Moi qui suis un amateur de l'affutâge (j'en suis dingue) c'est le meilleur outil à main que j'ai trouver jusqu'à maintenant. Attention de bien lire ou de chercher le mode d'emploi (Vidéo YouTube très pratique) pour une bonne utilisation. Si vous l'utilisez correctement et l'entretenez (essuyage avec un chiffon sec àprès chaque usage) vos couteaux deviendront des lames de rasoirs et vos outils également. Sur le manche il y a le guide à 20° pour ne pas vous tromper.

Used it on everything. Knives, hedge trimmer, Pruning scissors, secateurs, shears, reel mower etc. most all round stone I've ever owned
