Crying Freeman [DVD] [1995]

I saw a recent interview with Mark Dacascos, it reminded me of this movie. I had to see it again. Was it as good as I remembered? Yes it is!!This is a great adaptation of the Crying Freeman Anime. Some of the scenes are right out of there. Mark play the Freeman perfectly. I do prefer the more hand to hand fights then just the gun fights but everything is done of well I have no complaints.Like most Manga character the Freeman seem to be 3 steps ahead of everyone else, everything is a one strike or one shot kill. All the movements are precise no wasted movement.If I did have one gripe about the dvd it is the special features offer nothing. All I get here is 2 trailers of the main movie. If I did not like this movie so much I am tempted to take a star away for that.

This is a good film would love to see the original.

Great action packed adaptation of the genre. 5 Stars!

It's a great movie and one I've always come back to and in my opinion the best manga adaptation ever done.Note to viewers, the original release does actually have the Chinese and Japanese subtitled...somehow they managed this back in 1990's but apparently they can't do that in this modern era...It really takes a lot away from the film which is a real shame.

When I've first watched this movie, I didn't know that it was made by manga comic. It's visaul style just swept of my feet. I think tihs is the best work of Cristophe Gans, and by far the best movie of Dacascos. I would recommend it to every afcionado of mangas, but also good films.

Filmed in 1995 but has all the style and sophistication of 15 years prior to that... which makes for an exceptionally odd viewing experience these days.All the more so, because the streamed version we watched didn't have subtitles for the large lumps of Asian dialogue.Most of the movie was in English, however, and you didn't really need to know what was being said to get the gist of the not-entirely-mind-bending plot.The plot revolves around a fella with a dragon tattoo, who's been black-magic'd into becoming an assassin.Most of the action is unremarkable gunplay, with one short segment of splendid martial arts right at the end.Nor terrible, but very dated.6/10

first adaptation of a manga comic in the 90's, a few holes in the plot but very pleasant to watch; it is not easy to source and the price is very good so I am very satisfied with my purchase

A brilliant adaptation of the anime, the stunts a little passe' by todays standards but Mark De Cascos fits the role so neatly that it is hard to think of anyone else in the role. Seems to have been Julie Condra' only onscreen role as the two got married.

El DVD está perfecto y se ve correctamente sin ningún problema.Muy contento,ahora forma parte de mi videoteca.Es una película difícil de conseguir en DVD así que merece la pena pagar aunque sea de segunda mano .Parece mentira lo bien lograda que está en el apartado visual y de acción.Una película adelantada a su tiempo.

La pelicula ni siquiera puede reproducirse en un DVD normal, solo en PC abriendo el archivo directamente. La calidad es bastante mediocre tambien, aparentemente copia del primer DVD que sacaron en china. Si eres fan de Mark Dacascos y de esta pelicula mejor consiguela por otros medios hasta que saquen una version original a la venta o mejor aun, el blu ray.-- English --The movie doesn't even play on a regular DVD player, only on PC by directly opening the file. Quality is also very bad, apparently a copy from the first Chinese release. If you like Mark Dacascos and this movie just get it through other means until they release the original DVD or even better, the Blu ray.
