Review: I love this headset - Headsets are not created equal, and I have four requirements that make a headset good: Comfort - while this one looks uncomfortable, it is actually quite pleasant to wear - with, or without, glasses. I wear this headset daily for at least five or six hours and I forget that I'm wearing it a half hour in. The rubber earpiece sits on your ear, not in your ear. Connectivity and range - This one has typical BT range when paired with a phone, but I get a good 50 to 60 feet (even through walls) when connected via the dongle. Pro tip - If you one of these and one of the Poly Voyager Focus headsets, then you can pair both with the same dongle and use the two headsets interchangeably by just turning power off on the one you're not using. Useful if you use the Focus at your desk and the 5200 when walking around. Sound quality - This isn't suited for listening to music for the noise reduction is outstanding and the sound on the "other end" is just like talking directly into the phone. Because it only fits on one ear, it doesn't reduce external noise for you (hence the Poly Focus), but the microphone does a great job in reducing outside noise. I have a habit of walking around the house when talking on the phone and sometimes walk over to the sink or microwave. The folks on the other side hear none of those distractions. For comparison, I also have a Jabra Talk 45 (also a decent set) but every distracting noise is heard on the other side. Charging and battery life - Battery life is realistically about 5 hours of talk time. This is actual talking/listening time, not "powered on" time, so unless you spend a lot of time on the phone, this should last all day. I generally charge mine every two days or so. Charging is a bit tricky. The battery base, as a concept, is great, but putting the headset into the cradle and making sure that it is in properly is a bit fiddly at times and the blue charging lights aren't very visible. Opening the case and placing the headset inside works far more reliably. As a gadget junkie, I have far more peripherals than I need, and this is one of the few that I'm not planning on upgrading.

**Q: what comes with this particular package?**
A: Best headset on market!! Been using it and earlier models for over 10 years.
All headsets hurts your ears with and without cushions. I started with older model with cushions, it takes a week or 2 of all day to build what i call "ear calluses" now they don't come with the "cushions" and i dont wear em. The pain of a new object in your ear is real. It will go away after 1 or 2 weeks👍

**Q: Does it have a mute?**
A: yes, it has a mute button.

**Q: is this the newest  version of the Plantronics Voyager out there?**
A: The Voyager 5200 and 5220 both say that they are Bluetooth 4.1 (see the Plantronics website for the official product specifications), but the Voyager 5200 UC says that it is "Blutooth 5.0 with BLE"

I don't see any Voyagers newer than that on the Plantronics web site.

**Q: Will charging using the previous Legend series magnetic clasping cables also work? Pics show terminals...but position has changed.**
A: Do not buy the earpiece + charger as sold above. The cable is for the Legend and not the 5200. For some inexplicable reason, Poly (plantronics) doesn't make the inexpensive, convenient, magnetic charger for the 5200 and redesigned the width of the base enough so it doesn't fit the voyager charger. They are happy to overcharge you for a bulky, inconvenient case/docking unit however. I have been using this product for over a decade and it is the best on the market, I do have like seven now-useless charging ports though!

### ⭐ Sad imitation to a once superior product

Let me start by saying I have bought many of these headsets, all new. When plantatronics sold this headset it was quality, the sound was clear, it didn’t lose Bluetooth connection to your phone, it lasted, generally a year of daily use before declining. Now HP owns the former company Plantatronics, it is called Poly now. It is absolute trash now. How can you take a quality product and run it in the ground while still asking a premium price for it? This last headset bundle I purchased new, quit working while in the middle of a call only 2 weeks after purchase. It constantly lost pairing to my phone, the charging case doesn’t know whether to charge or discharge. I have constantly synced it to the Poly app for updates only to have it stop working again the next day. I have purchased 3 of these headsets in the past 2 months with all of them failing shortly after. I am a rational person in that I believe there is always a lemon in the manufacturing process but these have consistently proven it is not an isolated incident but a norm for a once great product. I returned the previous units that failed within the 30 day return period but it is just not worth the trouble anymore. My troubles may hopefully save you the hassle of this crap product.
