I keep trying, but also keep failing in getting this to work with a camcorder and OBS. It's a shame, but I'll keep trying and if I am able to get it to work, I'll come and update this review.

This encoder does a good job of reformatting raw footage into a digestible format in real time so that the footage can be viewed remotely. This encoder allows for live footage to be viewed from anywhere. Without an encoder the footage is saved directly to a drive and is not formatted for efficient playback. This encoder works reliably and makes it possible for me to stay tuned to what’s happening around my house when I’m away.

Nothing fancy here--just a very functional HDMI video encoder. These things have a variety of uses including live streaming. What it does is convert an output file from one device (eg: a video camera) and convert it to a codec suitable for streaming. Not much to this. You can get more full featured encoders but this one does the job. Recommended!

This small encoder doesn't take up a lot of space on a desk, and all that is required is power and a HDMI signal as it can connect to a WiFi network or a hard wire ethernet connection for access this encoder. The options are somewhat limited as there is a storage option, but no place to insert a SD card. The web browser interface is very simple and geared more towards production type of environment.
