I found that although this rig is plastic, it is a very comfortable carry for a 1911 and two magazines.I originally intended to order an expensive leather rig if I liked this method of carry. Still might. But this rig is serviceable enough for me. I’m in no hurry.It was recently pointed out to me this item is advertised as being for the left and right handed.
