Excellent history of the SBS and how it evolved from its various components in WWII. Written by an accomplished author I admire.

I recommend any history by this author, always well researched, detailed, investigative, reasoned in judgment and a good read.

This is a very good guide to how the SBS came about from the various ad hoc organisations that it sprang from.
