(Don't answer if you're not sure, thanks)** A: It’s a metal hook with a soft touch plastic handle. The best books I have ever used. The metal hook is smooth and doesn’t snag the wool like some cheaper hooks do. **Q: What is the total length of the hook?** A: I still work in inches and it is approx 5” long. I have used these crochet hooks for sometime and adore them. They are so soft on the the hands and don’t separate the wool, just pick up each stitch with ease. I have made many single blankets and other items using these and would highly recommend. **Q: Will the markings on the soft touch hooks wear off? As they are all the same colour** A: I don’t think so. I have had mine for a long time and have used them a lot. I hold my hook like a pen, so you don’t really touch the numbers. They are very strongly printed on. I love these hooks, so much easier to manipulate than traditional ones. **Q: Is the hook aluminium or steel** A: I would say it’s not steel as it doesn’t cling onto a magnet, so maybe it’s aluminium.
