One of the best purchases I have made
I was skeptical about robotic pool cleaners, but finally tried the TigerShark QC with low expectations. My 15ft by 35 ft pool is surrounded by trees and vegetation that give a year around constant task of leaf cleaning, as well as detritus left by numerous birds and other animals, Both of those are a result of living borders by a National Park with exuberant tropical life. The TigerShark cleaned more in one four hour session than I had imagined possible, but promptly stopped climbing walls. The instructions are quite cursory and lack detail, nor were reviews much help. We discovered, on our own, that the filters must be cleaned diligently every single time they are used, and need a very strong force of water to remove the accumulated dust and debris. If the filter colour is not as new when you replace them they are not clean enough. Now, after two months our pool is immaculate. I spend about ten minutes a day clearing away the floating leaves that have fallen during the night, but otherwise the job is for my TigerShark. We had planned to retile the pool, after twenty-five years of use, thinking it could not possibly really be clean. However, it now is almost as new and we're expecting another few years of use. The filters are quite efficient, claim filtering to 5 microns, so the water is cleaner than it has ever been before, I have reduced pump filtration to only an hour a day, and the ph no longer varies much. A side effect of the filtration is that swimmers now comment on how perfectly clear the water is compared with other pools they use. Care points: 1. Keep the filters clean! 2. Use a GFCI (I use a portable GFCI in addition to the one at the outlet, and am connecting them through a voltage stabiliser). 3. Make certain the power supply is allowed plenty of fee airspace beneath. It needs the ventilation. the last two points are important especially if your electrical supply is imperfect. Our is. Since installing the extra GFCI and voltage stabiliser the power supply has been much cooler. I suspect that means a longer lifespan. Without question I recommend the TigerShark QC. It does require care and careful handling, but does a superb job,

Nice Upgrade. Works Well!
I have had this unit for 2 weeks after replacing an original Aquabot unit that I had for 12 years. The Tigershark unit operates very different from the Aquabot unit, making frequent turns and changes in direction. This unit also moves a lot faster than the Aquabot and is a lot easier to clean. I have only used it in "Full Clean" mode and it does an adequate job (sometimes I have to run it twice, but so what). Unit climbs the walls to the waterline and doesn't get stuck on either of my 2 main drains, which seemed to be where my Aquabot lived. I like that the unit shuts off after the estimated cleaning period. Cleaning the filters, once you get the hang of it, is much easier than the Aquabot bag and putting the botton unit back in is a snap. The Aquabot unit that I had worked well, although I had to replace parts every 3-4 years. The Tigershark seems like the next technological upgrade to that pool cleaner, and costs only $100-$200 more than the Aquabot replacement. If I can get 10 yrs out of it then I will have gotten my money's worth. Using these units I never hand vacuum my pool during the entire season, and any time that I don't have to vacuum the pool by hand is a good time! Just run the unit overnight and the pool is clean in the morning. Note: I read the comments about the Tigershark not climbing the walls to the waterline. The instruction manual states this is how the unit works in "Quick Clean" mode, which I haven't used. Quick Clean is the factory default setting on the power unit and you have to manually press the button to put it in "Full" mode. I live in Long Island and my pool is 20 x 40. I would recommend the Tigershark unit at the Amazon price. My local pool company wanted $1,400.00 for this unit.

Less time cleaning more time swimming
Excellent pool cleaner, as others have mentioned must keep the filters clean after every use. Buy spare filters.

Excellent product!
I bought the cleaner 3 years ago. It has worked perfectly every season since I purchased it. We have a large inground pool that has curved sides, steps built in as well as a seat all around the shallow end. It works great! It picks up nuts, seeds, leaves, small stones, as well as fine dirt, etc. It is easy to clean and sturdy. We don't leave it in the water, but use the cleaner as needed and then take out. It works today as good as it did when I purchased it. When the filters are cleaned, it zips through the water rather quickly. It has 2 settings-a quicker clean and the longer and more thorough one. Depends on what you need cleaned. The cord is long and reaches adequately to both ends of the pool. My only complaint is the cord twists as it goes back and forth the long ways and side ways. I wish it had a rotating connection on the cleaner. Maybe the newer model has this. It is no big deal to the cleaning and easily straightened out when taken out of the pool. Although somewhat expensive, I would highly recommend this cleaner. If you don't want to have a cleaner that runs through your filter system and is easy to use, this is the one.
