An excellent crash course in personal injury litigation
I first came across Andrew when I attended one of his continuing legal education courses and was blown away by his knowledge. Although I am an attorney, I knew almost nothing about personal injury law at the time. I started listening to more of his CLEs and became hooked. He also has an excellent podcast called The Mentor Esq. where he lectures on various practical topics for attorneys but also interviews interesting people. I have listened to most of his CLEs and podcasts at this point and have learned a tremendous amount about personal injury law but also other important topics like referrals and marketing.I thought that I had learned pretty much all that Andrew had to say about litigating a personal injury case; boy was I wrong! This book is packed full of useful information, and not just for personal injury attorneys. It is a great primer for preparing for any type of litigation, civil and even criminal. Andrew breaks down a case, step-by-step, from the initial contact with a potential client to finalizing closing documents after a settlement or verdict. It also includes sections on critical topics like discovery, jury selection, openings, and summation. This is a great reference manual to have on hand. It is also entertaining to read, something that I have rarely said about other legal manuals I have read in my career!

Great Guide for any Attorney
As an avid listener of the Mentor, ESQ Podcast I was thrilled to hear about Andrew Smiley's debut book, "How to Successfully Litigate a Personal Injury Case: A Practical Guide." As a leader in the field of personal injury law, Andrew has a wealth of knowledge and experience that he has generously shared in this book.It is designed to be a practical guide for attorneys who want to obtain the best results for their clients in a personal injury case. The chapters are well-structured and break down each step in the litigation process in a clear and concise manner. I was impressed by the level of detail provided in each chapter and the practical tips that Andrew shares. The book is easy to read and understand, making it accessible to both new and experienced lawyers. It is a must-read for any attorney looking to improve their skills and obtain the best results for their clients. Thank you, Andrew, for sharing your knowledge and experience with the legal community!

This is an Excellent How-To Handbook
This book touches on so many important aspects of the day-to-day realities of handling a personal injury case. Everything from case intake to trial. This is a How-To Handbook that provides a working perspective from an experienced, practicing lawyer. It addresses the actuality of daily personal injury practice. So many terrific practice tips and tricks, that could only come from a seasoned litigator. As a New York litigator myself, I appreciate the insight and detail that Andrew provides, and I picked up so many great suggestions. This book is highly recommended, and a must read for every personal injury practitioner. I found myself wishing that I had a copy of this book as a young attorney. Should be on the reading list for every law school student taking a civil practice course as well.

An incredible resource!
This is a phenomenal read and resource! I found the level of detail to be spot on for both brand new and experienced personal injury attorneys alike. Further, the fact the Andrew provides guidance and perspective for both plaintiff and defense attorneys is well appreciated. The tips and tools of the trade found in this book are invaluable-thank you for sharing!

Not very useful to actual practitioners
This is a broad summary with no details and no filing, motion, letter, or demand examples. Find a different resource if you need more than a bare, surface level overview of a case life. This isn’t worth the money for actual practitioners. I’ve read better in legal blogs.

A Litigator's Dream!
This book is very informative! Even, I as a non-attorney, a Litigation Paralegal found it very helpful to myself in doing and understanding my job better! It's written very simplisticly, but very detailed, which gives the newest attorney a inside "fresh" look at what to expect as a Personal Injury Litigator! It's top notch and deserves the Best Seller List title...

Not what I expected
Most of the book rambles on and on. Not informative at all. Definitely not worth the money.
