Ok machine, no complaints
Does the job it is supposed to. Perfectly adequate for a home stringer. I was a total beginner at stringing when i bought the machine, but after a couple of early hiccups have had no trouble using it to string at a level that is perfectly adequate for a good club player to use. Beware the misleading other reviews which have come from amazon.com, you don't get any instruction manuals or free string with the amazon.co.uk item.

False economy. Look elsewhere.
Machine turned up with minor damage. Also, poor and flawed design will result in warping / deforming most rackets to a varying degree, depending on racket construction and stiffness. This is extremely harmful to any racket and risks severe damage.Beware of the many good reviews from people that just haven't discovered the issue (yet?) - this is essentially just taking advantage of beginners that don't know better.Gamma accused me of not knowing how to use it and despite it being sold as a machine ideal for beginners (I'm not a beginner - I just wanted a cost effective and compact solution), Gamma insist it takes some experience to use this machine. That can be said of any machine, but that's not the issue here and this response is Gamma blatantly swerving the fact it's design is ultimately not fit for purpose.Very disappointed and Gamma have been difficult, ridiculous and rude.Look elsewhere and avoid the false economy of these machines ... and most likely all Gamma products.

Preis/Leistung unschlagbar

Great stringer for the money! Overall great product and do not regret pruchasing!!
This is a very great stringer for a beginner stringer at a very affordable price!Disclaimer: The above comments said it came with 12 sets of strings or so. Mine only came with 6. Which is fine, because you will probably use these strings as practice strings. When you get good with stringings (probably after the 4th string job you do on this machine, you will probably want to buy the reels. You only use about 32 feet of string or less. (at least I did with a 16x19 racquet)) In an individual set of strings, you're given 40 feet of string, so if you use 32 feet of string or less, look at how much string you're saving if you get a reel! More string + more play time + more tennis for your buck!I learned how to use this machine by studying my own tennis racquet and watching Youtube Videos. Looking at the direction the grommet is facing will let you know which holes go to crosses, which holes are mains and which holes are shared. My first string job was about 1 hour and 52 minutes, and after stringing 6 racquets, I can string in about an hour or a bit less than that. The only frustrating thing about this was that I felt the instruction booklet didn't do a great job teaching how to make the knot. Of course, no problem at all for Youtube. It taught me well.I've never had any issues with the clamp. It's a very straight forward clamp and the handles are pretty large and I believe it is very hard to get your fingers stuck in there for it to be a bloody mess.I used to just believe that getting a string job done at the professionals is always the way to go and for that reason, I stopped to consider getting my own stringer. Well, let me shed some light on that. The professional stringers, those at the tennis shops at your local place, they definitely do a great job. However, you can too. Once you learn how to use this device (like I said probably after the 4th string job on this device which won't be a problem since this comes with 6 strings) you can do just as great of a job as they can and guess what? You can save a lot of money too.Anyway, to sum it up.Pros: - Comes with 6 set of strings. - Installation is easy with instruction booklet - Cheap and built to last - Once you get good, it will be a lifetime money saver - Once you finish a string job, it will feel great.Cons: - May be frustrating at first, but don't worry. You'll get it. I promise! - Will take a bit longer to string as compared to the more expensive machines. (Just practice and you'll get faster. But practice safely. Don't rush and hurt yourself in the process) - Instructional manual is only good for set up. Does a terrible job on teaching you how to actually string. (Thank goodness Youtube is your best friend, right?)I can't think of any other pros and cons. I feel like for each of the cons there are ways to combat it and make it into something manageable. So if you have about $200 laying around, this is a great investment for a tennis player. I am a 4.5 and maybe a 5.0 on a good day. I don't feel any inconsistencies in the tension around the racquet, and it's really a well done string job when I hit with my own racquets after I string it.Note: If Youtube isn't your best friend, I'm sure you can ask it and it'll say yes. You'll find Youtube a must on this device as it'll teach you a lot better than the instruction manual on this device. Youtube "Gamma X-2" and there should be some videos for you to watch.Anyway, good luck, and have fun stringing and afterwards, feel even better by hitting some aces or winners on your freshly strung racquet!

Quite easy to use, money saving, and fun DIY!
I own 4 racquets, and cost average $43 each for pro string job. The first try stringing was time consuming, but with the help of You-tube tutorials, should be second nature. In few years time, you break even, and can hit harder not to worry about breaking strings!
