I bought this beautiful stove for secondary heat in my parlor. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. It’s a beautiful stove, it heats beautifully and it looks perfect in my late 1800’s home. I’m thinking about getting another to add to my kitchen. If Real Flame madd an electric pot belly stove, I’d buy it now! Some folks state that the stove is difficult to assemble. We took our time and didn’t have any trouble. But it would simplify the process if the pieces were labeled. That’s the only recommendation I can make about assembly.

So far so good. Pro tip for assembly... Drive every screw into the hole it will be installed into FIRST, then back it out. Then put the fireplace pieces in place and drive the screws in a second time. The screws have a coating that makes it hard to drive in the first time. Doing this opens the threads up and makes driving the screw in much easier. The screwdriver has to be at a slight angle due to the tight fit and doing this will make assembly easier and should help you avoid stripping a screw head.

First, super fast fedex shipping and even with a couple holes in one box, product arrived in perfect condition. The instruction book is AWFUL, the pictures do not show spatial orientation as to which panel goes which way, think Ikea with no pictures. The panels require you to attach correctly and having not assembled this previously, they are very poorly presented. American design says the website, Chinese built, that rings true, classic Chinese instructions. Once assembled its a tight unit that indeed has been well designed. It would be much easier if either labeled or a video showing correct orientation of the panels on the company website. STRONGLY suggest you have LONG phillips head screw driver (think 24 inches), the screws require a bit of strength to tighten, and a long fender screwdriver provides the best torque in getting them tight. power screwdrivers likely would over tighten and spin. OK, that said the heating unit is really nice and is what is described, again, the long screw driver will make attachment way easier as space is limited where you need to screw it in. All supplied hardware included , and 2 little steel straps that are not listed on the parts list, i will call customer service on a business day to ask what they are. Also the real flame company website sends no feedback that you have registered the product , additionally the 'create an account' feature doesn't work. So you are an unknown entity to them, ill ask CS about that issue.........

I’ve had this fireplace for exactly 2 years. I loved it until now…. It was very expensive. Very. You would think it would last forever, but the unit shuts off from heating after a minute or so and flashes “88” in blue. The seller has yet to respond. For the price and short shelf life, I’d say look further.

Absolutely love it! It’s exactly what I was looking for. 0/5 for assembly. I physically could not screw the screws in more than halfway and had to get 2 people to help me. The screw position area is so close to the unit you cannot use a power tool and has to be done manually—if you have the strength.

Very happy with this fireplace! Assembly wasn't bad and it looks and works great. It's really added a cozy feeling to our home this winter and the heating feature has been nice to take the chill out of the air too

Looks great and husband says easy asssembly but Im disappointed with the heat (or lack of) that this unit puts out I thought it would warm the space quicker and have the space hold heat longer. Area is about 400 Sq Feet

Well built. Looks great in the bedroom. Gives a warm inviting ambience. The amount of control over flame colour etc is appreciated. The remote and the timer are very useful.
