This is not the flashlight you want for astronomy. Its only got three settings; bright, super bright and flashing. You do not need flashing red for pretty much anything in astronomy, so its a pointless feature that you are forced to cycle through every time you use it. The dimmer of the two brightness's is still ridiculously bright when being used at a dark sky site. This could be fixed but would require modification to the circuitry, it would be better to just by a different flashlight. As it comes, it has a super bright hot spot in the light output, this can be fixed by removing the reflective cone, resulting in a nice even red circle, but again its still way too bright for astronomy purposes. Perhaps its a good option for some other purpose, whatever it is intended for, but not astronomy.

I wanted a red light flashlight for when I get up at night so I don’t have to turn on a light. But it’s too bright for inside! It would be great for outside, stargazing, etc. I found a red headlamp that’s better for indoors.

Returned it right out of the box did not work. I just got ahold of a bad one this time. Just didn’t have time to exchange it leaving on hunting trip next day

Does not hold a charge for very long. Light fades out quockly

I threw it away and bought a different red light flashlight. Dont waste you money.
