Stellar Classic 15cm / 6" Cook's Knife, Stainless Steel Razor Sharp Blade, Full Tang Riveted Handle, Dishwasher Safe

Very pleased with this purchase - I was looking for a versatile mid sized blade for general kitchen preparation, and this fits the bill perfectly.Lightweight, well balanced, razor sharp out of the package, enough belly on the blade for effective rocking cuts, and the handle is comfortable in use even for large arthritic hands like mine.So far, so good - a great value for money kitchen knife.

I have had a set of professional Gustav knives for many years which have kept their edge but unfortunately have wooden handles that are splintering and disintegrating now and, of course, I have never been able to put them in the dishwasher (a constant source of frustration!) Did a lot of research before taking the plunge and buying this one. Apart from the logo, it is identical to my 20 year old knife with the exception that this one is dishwasher safe. It is beautifully balanced and has an edge that deserves handling with respect. I'm going to give this one a "test drive" and will replace all my other set with these if they prove worthy.

I have several Stellar Sabatier knives, but this size went missing, so I bought this as a replacement. It is an ideal size for a variety of vegetables. I would like to clear up some nonsense I have seen in several reviews for other Stellar Sabatier knives. First of all some say they rust and are not stainless, this is nonsense, You would have to submerge this for a very long time in the sea to even try to make it rust. I use my knives every day, and they go into my dishwasher every day, and they all look as good as new. Sabatier is not a brand, but a group of companies that produce quality knives in Theirs, France. the Stellar knives are made by Rousselon Freres. I would use no other knife. There are some companies that use the Sabatier label when they should not. Please read more on wikipedia, searching Sabatier. I would agree with all the good points shown in the other five star reviews.

***EDIT*** I accidently dropped the knife, admittedly on a tiled floor, and it snapped at the handle. This suggests the quality of the steel is not up to the standard I would expect from a Sabatier.I cant bear going to other peoples kitchens to cook with them and finding their knives are worse than useless. I have bought this knife for a few of my family and friends and they all say it has made such a difference. Good quality genuine Sabatier knife, perfect size and balance for general kitchen duties and at a great price. Can't go wrong!

Good quality knife, long blade sharp out of the packet but now it has been used the blade has started to dull a little

I have had this knife for years, it is a great size for people to handle, especially novices who don't like big knives. Keep it sharp with a Sabatier steel and it will last a lifetime.All my knives are Stellar Sabatier and are very good value for money.Never dishwash them, wash them by hand and dry them immediately, this will prevent any oxidisation appearing.

Just tried the knife on a tomato bounced of it really blunt will need to sharpen it on my wet stone.

Cannot comment on this particular order as I ordered it for daughter in Canada. My assessment is on the one I broke whilst over there, which she had used for some years

I have ordered this knife due to the 30 years I had the exact same knife. I purchased the Stella Sabatier culinary set for my son who graduated from cooking school. This 6 in. is perfect for everyday cooking skills. I inherited "The knife" I had to replace it as it was littlerly worn out. Thanks Amazon! Only you would have it.

Bought the wrong brand - I was seeking K Sabatier, made in France. This looks OK, no complaints, I never used it. But it looks exactly like the well-known K Sabatier. I think the vendor should differentiate - however, I also believe in caveat emptor - it's up the buyer to determine what they want and the buyer to take care in buying it. The vendor was very sympathetic and offered a refund. That's Good!

We love this knife... it sharpens up easily so we can keep it always sharp. Like the smaller size. All quality.
