Adobe Photoshop Cs6: Learn by Video: Core Training in Visual Communication Dvdr Edition

Overall, I am OK with the product. I have used Lightroom 4 for a while and am fairly proficient. When I decided to learn Photoshop, I decided to get training rather than the hard way. The instructor is good at times and just Ok at others. She makes NUMEROUS references to previous versions of Photoshop which would be OK, if I was a long-term user of the software. Also, starting about module 4, she moves very quickly at times - making it difficult to follow her. If you are not familiar with the process you will not be able to follow her. I found I needed to replay lessons several times just to figure out what she was clicking on (i.e. find her cursor). When I had to do that, I was no longer focused on the lesson and what I should be learning but just the cursor. If you do not know the drop downs and choices, you will not be able to follow her. I recommend this for the advanced beginner to intermediate user - NOT a beginner.

It is readily apparent that Ms. McCathran knows her stuff and is well experienced with providing instruction. The curricula is logically ordered to build upon itself so that foundational Photoshop knowledge and experience is followed by more advanced photo editing techniques. What I especially appreciate about the program is the built-in capability of working in real time in Photoshop while instruction is being provided. I learn more thoroughly by doing and this program is specifically designed to provide for that learning style. As I think about it, this program has a distinct advantage over an in-person lecture format. That is, if you don't quite fully understand what is being taught you can repeat the challenging section over and over until you do get it. What I have found helpful is running the program on a lap top while I work in Photoshop on a desktop instead of using the window in window feature. That gives me a larger instruction screen and I also find it easier to stop the program to work on an image when running the program on a laptop.In short, I can highly recommend this product to any student of Photoshop who wants to refine his or her photo editing skills.

I am a beginner in Photoshop. When video was purchased, I only knew how to crop and to adjust image quality. I have made a quantum leap in my knowledge of PS CS6 using Adobe Photoshop CS6 Learn by Video by Kelly McCathran. My main goal is to enhance and clean photographs and this video has taught me some excellent techniques. It lays out how to down load images direct from my SD card/camera into PS, how to use filters, the mini-bride, layers, cropping techniques that I was not aware, take out imperfections in faces, take out age lines and crows feet, remove unwanted objects, enhance colors....and I am only in chapter 3 (out of 12). Some techniques are too advanced for me (like working in 3D), however, what I have learned has been well worth the price and time. Much more efficient than trying to learn in You Tube. Every time a new version of Photoshop comes out I either get a Learning Tutorial from Photoshop User or VTC and I've been doing this since Photoshop 4.0 (NOT Photoshop CS4). Those tutorials are good but in my opinion Adobe Photoshop CS6 Learn By Video is by far a better and easier way of learning Photoshop. Kelly McCathran, the author of Learn By Video, teaches you in a nice easy and organized pace. The tips and shortcuts she brings out are tips I never knew existed in Photoshop. Extremely good for beginners, novices and even people that have been using Photoshop for years. For the price and what you get out of this DVD you can't go wrong.

Learn by video has got to be the best way to learn Photoshop.Well set out, easy to follow tutorials, allow you to master each facet of the Photoshop program as your time allows. The way you can be working in photoshop and still have a tutorial running makes practising what you are learning very easy.I think it is great, value for money (don't get scammed by the numerous Photoshop learning videos on the net),and it is easy.A great reference tool that you will come back to for years to come.Buy it.Andy

This video pretty much will advance your skill level no matter where you are knowledge wise with Ps CS6. It goes into great detail with tools you never knew existed. All in all whether professional or novice you will get a much more in-depth look at the software you thought you knew a lot about but after viewing you'll realize how much of the software was unutilized from the beginning. You can play the video from start to finish or click on individual sections you are the most interested in. There is no way you will be disappointed in this video no matter what level you're at. It gives new life to your current abilities and you find yourself going "man I can't believe I can do that"! It also goes into video editing right within Ps CS6 which is also very useful. Your editing skills will be so advanced after this that I guarantee the time it use to take you to create or edit will be cut down by at least 30 to 40%. Its like having someone right next to you showing you what you can do 24/7 365. A "must own" video for "any" Photoshop user....

i was supprise for the transportation fees but i was satisfy for the product i will give u a good satisfaction i have recived in time i started to learn i have took heven courses but the not seem to understand wath the personne was actulality saying in front in class so that is wy i have but this product i learn more with this programe its verry simple and understanding moor with adobe photoshop cs6 learn moore with the video she explain how to get to it it is realy amazing easy to learn just listen and it will be wath you are looking for leason only in english i wood surgest to try to the compagnie: to do it in french it wood be moore amazin for them

This is a very good resource to consolidate knowldege or learn a bit more. I went on a Photoshop course a year ago and this is really helping to update my knowledge and skills and you work at your own pace and not someone elses. It is not for beginners! If I bought this as a complete beginner I would have been thrown as there is no introductory section on what the tools do, it just has a section on the difference between this version and previous ones so assumes qutie a bit of knowledge already. It has a screen so that you can watch while you learn which is great. They throw a lot of shortcuts at you which you have no chance of remembering so it would be great if they provided a short cut index in the attached book or on the CD. Don't like the fact that it is for MAC and PC as they explain how to do things in both systems so it is not as focussed as it could be. That said - Love it!

I thought I was a fairly advanced beginner (if you know what I mean) within 5 minutes of starting the DVD was showing me things that blew me away.It is straight forward and easy to use. I'm not sure its for the absolute beginner as I think it presumes a certain amount of knowledge. I am using this along side other Adobe approved learning resources and for me it is just what I needed !!

Excellent resource - you can dip in or out to learn how to perform a certain task or follow each lesson step by step to gain comprehensive skills.

If you want to learn the basics - intermediate just buy it. Oh the voice of the trainer is like chocolate !

I am very happy with the product. It helps me a lot. It is very well done and the teaching is fantastic. I do recommend this product to anybody who wants to learn with photoshop. Regarding the seller as usual very reliable.
