Great product
I borrowed a wise owl underquilt from a friend during a camp trip and decided to get my own and tested it out at home while trying a new hammock set up.This is a great underquilt. It leaves some space under the hammock even when it’s stretched down, but doesn’t hang too low. The shock cords on both ends and on the sides allow it to seal around the hammock to keep warm air in. It’s light weight and packs well.I’ll be trying it with a wind sock this winter to see how it does for cold weather camping too.

Nice and Snug, Warm on Cool Nights, but Don't Expect Flat Lay
Update: I took this Wise Owl Flare Underquilt on an overnighter where I slept in a OneWind hammock. The temperature got down to the mid 50s. I had a 40 degree down sleeping bag which I left open and used as a top quilt. The underquilt kept me warm all night. At first I wasn't sure if it was working, or if it just wasn't all that cold. But then I would grab the sides of the underquilt and pull it up around myself. At that time, my butt would suddenly get cold, and I realized that, when I was pulling the underquilt up, I was forcing out all the warm air that was trapped inside of it. But it would only take a minute or so to warm back up. All and all, I'd say it does the job on mild, cool nights. But I still wish it were a little wider so that diagonal lay was easier.I bought this Wise Owl Outfitters Hammock Underquilt to attach to an 11' Onewind hammock I already own. So far, I have only attached it during a practice run in a local park. It comes with bungee cords on either end. I added carabiners to them and clipped them right onto the buckles of my hammock. It fit nice and snug and, when I lay down in the hammock, the sides were all up around me, so I don't think there will be a problem with any air gaps. Because I haven't slept in it yet, I cannot attest to the warmth (see other reviews for that) but I can say that it fits great. The one issue I did have is that it is too narrow to support diagonal-lay in the hammock, which is the most comfortable way to sleep. The underquilt is simply not wide enough for that. But if you lie flat in your hammock, with head and feet facing the buckles, then this should work just fine.

It works
So this underquilt worked very well for me. I'm 6'3" 260lbs and I wish it was a little bigger around the sides though it did pair well with a camp blanket when backpacking in the Rocky Mountains. It worked as advertised. I started to get cold in the early morning hours after a rain storm but I think it was more my fault for not properly securing the rain fly. Did not get wet from the rain.

Huge Difference
Anyone who has ever slept overnight in a hammock knows how much heat you lose out the bottom on your hammock. This made all the difference and kept my booty cheeks nice and toasty through even a cool summer night. Highly recommend! You

No more cold butt.
I used an air pad my first time hammocking and it was a disaster; every time I rolled the pad rolled with me giving me a cold butt. I used this quilt on my 2nd trip and am amazed by its light weight and warmth. Rolled all night a no more cold butt. Used it on a warm night, 60F, and I stayed warm without roasting. Would recommend this quilt and Wise Owl for all of your hammocking needs.

Good quality, well made
I like the shape and size despite some reviewers complaining about that. It has a decent amount of loft and I would consider it fairly light too. It has the high quality feel of a lofty slippery sleeping bag which I like too. Some of the stitching seemed a tad sloppy but nothing detrimental looking.

So warm
Last week I tent camped in the same weather and froze in flannel pajamas. This week i hammock camped, slept in my shorts and tank top. Didn’t even use my Wise Owl camp blanket. This under quilt definitely did what it was supposed to. It was east to set up. I love the color, but you won’t see it through the big bet anyway.
