Immersive D&D experience thatโs easy to learn and fun to replay
Bedlam in Neverwinter is a well-designed dungeon-crawl board game that does a great job capturing the spirit of Dungeons & Dragons while remaining accessible to players who may not be familiar with tabletop RPGs. The gameplay is straightforward to learn, but still offers enough strategy and variation to keep it interesting across multiple sessions. The components are high quality, from the sturdy game pieces to the clear, well-illustrated cards and board elements. The artwork and theme are immersive and help bring the Neverwinter setting to life without feeling overwhelming. Each playthrough feels slightly different, which adds to the replay value. What really stands out is how smoothly the game flows. Turns are intuitive, downtime between players is minimal, and the cooperative mechanics encourage teamwork without becoming overly complex. It works well for both casual game nights and more dedicated board-game sessions. Overall, this is an excellent choice for D&D fans and non-fans alike. It delivers a complete experience right out of the box and offers strong replayability, making it a great addition to any board game collection.

Great game! Lots of fun
This game was a lot of fun! I played it with my wife and son over Christmas - neither of them has ever played D&D, but they enjoyed the game a lot. It is not overly complex, but has story to carry things along. We all had a great time with it. It IS one of those games that takes many hours to play, but there three "Acts" which serve as natural break points, so it is flexible in that regard. Be aware, however, that it might be difficult to play this game more than once, since there are puzzles that must be solved along the way; you will have solved many of the puzzles the first time through, so the challenge won't be quite the same the next time you play. Overall, though, this is really a lot of fun.

We love it
Great game overall. This has been a huge hit. We love the Clue escape room games, and this is like that, but next level. Longer and with more gameplay elements, but still really accessible. Seems to be a great DnD introduction as well.

Good mix of combat challenges & brain-teasers, little replay value
A cooperative dungeon crawl/escape room hybrid game of sorts. My wife, her best friend, and I marathoned all three acts of the game in one afternoon/evening session. Bedlam in Neverwinter is sort of D&D Lite; you choose your race and class and starting weapon, then explore numbered nodes on a series of square boards representing the locations you visit. Each node directs you to draw a card from the deck, which will typically contain some text for you to read, part of a puzzle to solve, or a clue to help solve the central mystery of the current act. Some cards contain enemy encounters which players resolve using die rolls, with players getting a bonus die roll if their race/and or class's ability (strength, intelligence, etc.) matches an ability on the enemy card, along with various class skills and inventory items which allow for somewhat deeper strategies than "hope you roll a high enough number to hit the bad guy". The story is divided into three acts, with each act containing multiple location boards, logic puzzles to solve, and a final mystery to figure out once the end of the act is reached, with the stories progressing via a mixture of text on the cards and more diegetic elements such as documents and inscriptions. The puzzles consist of one or more cards giving clues which yield a three-digit number when solved, indicating which numbered card to draw from the deck. Some of them are quite inventive - one even requires using the game box itself to solve! Many of the cards contain prompts asking players to describe how they avoid a trap or to share stories of their characters' exploits, giving some opportunities for light role-playing. In general, the combat encounters and traps ramp up in difficulty a bit with each subsequent act, but the players level up as well, gaining a new skill based on their class - this saved my group's bacon more than once in difficult fights. Enemy HP is also partially dependent on how many people are playing, but I think the advantage of extra players will tend to be much more of an asset than a liability. Players can also obtain new items from the loot deck after certain successful battles or other encounters, with items ranging from healing potions to new weapons to artifacts than can potentially turn a failed die roll into a success. I should give a moment of attention to the overall presentation of the game as well. Right when you open the box you're given a set of directions to follow, setting up the overall premise of the game and helping players create their characters as you go along with unpacking the various card decks and tokens, then referring you to the quickstart guide at the front of the game manual to help you jump right into actually playing the game (with the act 1 deck also helpfully directing you to the various sections of the manual for a more thorough overview of combat, puzzles, items, etc.), which is a nice change from games where you have to spent 20-30 minutes reading and rereading ALL the instructions before starting play and then realizing you missed an important bit when you get stuck half an hour in. This game gives you a small number of simple procedures that are easy to remember and follow with no confusion. The one real complaint I do have about the game, and the reason I rated it it four stars rather than five, is that there's not much in the way of replay value once you've been through the whole game one time. The locations, enemy encounters, puzzles, and end-of-act mysteries will always be identical each time you run the game, so there's little to be gained from the puzzle-solving aspect on a second run unless you play with a completely new group of people. The only replay value I can think of is in varying the number of players and trying out different race/class/equipment combinations, plus the loot deck is shuffled at the start of each game, so players won't get the same items in the same order (that being said, there were exactly enough cards in that deck for us to exhaust the whole thing when we reached the end of act 3). Overall I definitely recommend Bedlam in Neverwinter if you're already a Dungeons & Dragons fan and want something that is recognizably "D&D-flavored" but don't have the time for a proper campaign, or if you're just into fantasy fiction and escape-room-style puzzle solving.

Highly Recommend
This game is awesome. My girlfriend and I just finished act 2 of 3 and are having a great time with it. She hadnโt played dnd type games before , but this feels like an escape room game with a combat element and requires zero prior knowledge about dnd. The game is super scalable to any size group, even solo, but it has helped to have at least two heads for some of the puzzles. Itโs not really replayable, but it could be packed back up and passed along to friends.

More of this, PLEASE!
I'm a long-time tabletop roleplaying gamer, but this was my first Fifth Edition product. I have strenuously avoided 5th edition and much prefer the D&D vibe of the 1980's or so. Have heard awful things about 5th edition. So this was a very pleasant surprise. I bought it because my wife likes puzzle-solving, not RPG's and this seemed a good hybrid. Well, it was. Just enough roleplaying, with simplified mechanics, to make me feel like I did an RPG quest and had a character - and the puzzles were excellent and the plot and puzzles, together, advanced through a very clever use of numbered cards. Graphics are great, components are attractive, and the rules go the extra mile to add a bit of roleplaying flair - without requiring players to make up a lot of backstory or do other things casual roleplayers don't care for. One minor irritation which falls in line with what I've heard about fifth edition: all the character cards and all of the plastic miniatures, portray females. Why?! Of course as an old-time gamer I have plenty of miniatures. And plotlines (at least the first two - we have one episode to go) aren't noticably corrupted by "Wokeness." (And I notice.) Very good value for three evenings of fun, with a game we'll pass on to friends with hearty recommendations after we complete it. Hasbro, keep up the great work here! (But do remember some of us want to pretend to fight monsters without pretending to be girls.)

A lot of fun and simple enough for beginners
I had a lot of fun playing this with my husband. Ive always wanted to play a DND style game but was too intimidated by the real thing. This was a perfect chance to dip our toes with good stopping points/pacing.

Fun intro to dnd concepts
I played call to adventure and thought that was a good intro to dnd. I bought this because it seemed like a good next step to introduce someone to the concepts in dnd like role playing and battle mechanics. Overall it's been a lot of fun. I set this up for brunch and it was the perfect game. The story is well written and the rules are simple enough. The puzzles were fun and everyone had fun. It's a good buy for someone that is thinking about getting into dnd. It took 2 hours for the first act. I don't see much replayability since once you solve it the answers don't change

great gift for DnD dads and pals
got as a gift for my DnD loving dad. heโs been playing since the 80s. we played this for a few of our family game nights and loved it! however you can only play it once (since you know the story once you finish) and each act is over an hour long, so itโs an investment for sure. itโs a great game to play if youโre getting tired of being the DM for the last 40 years

Amazing game but simple enough for younger kids.
I bought this for the school holidays to occupy my son and his friends and its been a big hit. They were able to run the game all on their own and work through multiple days to reach the end. The mechanics are so well crafted and when placed into the D&D lore it just works so well. There isn't much replay value here but for the price you get a solid 10 hours of gaming or so. Very worth it. Next step from here will be to run the D&D starter kit.
