I am not a leather expert but my first job on leaving school was in a Tannery working with Chamois Leather.This product does not look like, smell like or feel like any Chamois I have handled before and I did handle thousands.It is cut to look like a genuine pelt but unlike genuine leather it is absolutely uniform throughout, there are no thicker parts specifically around the legs and neck where the skin would have been a slightly different texture.I suppose when I saw "Shammy" it should have rung bells but I assummed that may be a way of describing the product to the less educated who can't spell "Chamois"That said, I have used it and it sort of does its job, it needs more ringing out than a proper Chamois, there is no greasy feel to it either that you get with a proper chamois.It will do the job for me in the meantime as it is just keep my van clean, I am not a valeter but if you want a Genuine Chamois and the results that come with them, I think you will need to spend the extra £5-10 needed to get one, this in my opinion is not what you would be looking for. If you are looking for a cheap product to dry your car to a basic standard, you probably won't be too dissapointed at the cost. You pay your money and you takes your choice
