Pros: Decent battery life Easy to upgrade. Just unscrew the bottom screws pop open the bottom lid (but be careful not to break the side ports and internal components obviously) and wala! You have access to the ssd ram and a spot for a 2.5” ssd or hdd. M.2 ssd and ram are fully upgradable. Ram goes up to 64gb max so you can do a lot with that It has usb 3.1 and usb c It’s fairly low power and lightweight too The onboard gpu isn’t too bad but the RTX 4050 is pretty good for what I use too. Both gpus perform well in Daz Studio Marvelous Designer and Blender I’m not a gamer but I do play GameCube Wii Gameboy and DS emulators and occasionally simcity 5 and a TON of simcity 4. On simcity 5 the most graphics intensive game i play I can crank the settings up to maximum using the RTX and it plays very smoothly and looks great as well. WiFi is wifi 6 so not too bad either but I use Ethernet so that doesn’t matter to me really all that much CPU is a 10 core 12th gen i7 with upper 4.ghz range boost clock so cpu rendering in blender and Daz is fairly painless. It’s not gpu rendering but still very good—definitely good enough for me and I make big complex scenes with lots of lights characters VDBs special effects and other intricate stuff also I do short animation clips as well so let that be your gauge. Cons: more like nitpicking—because ya know we ALL have nitpicks about everything It’s not 2.5gb Ethernet It has red led keyboard not RGB It too lightweight for me but that’s probably because all the previous laptops I owned were giant bricks of gaming laptops from the mid 2000s back when everyone used first generation i7s (or back then the ONLY generation i7s) you should have seen the dinosaur dell gaming laptop I had before this. Oomph! My back (and wallet) hurts just thinking about that old laptop I had before I bought this one. This is by far a massive upgrade and improvement! It’s ddr4 not ddr5 which is really not the worst thing for me as my gpu rendering workstation desktop pc runs a Maxwell gpus and 2666ghz ddr4 ram and it’s pretty good at gpu rendering. The RTX dedicated gpu is only 6gb vram but really for me I use it primarily for CPU rendering anyway and barely ever use the RTX on it except for computations in my rendering software and every once in a while my emulators and simcity 5 for which the RTX 6gb is plenty of VRAM for me This laptop is definitely worth getting if you’re looking for a really good entry level gaming enulator gaming or CPU based 3d graphics modeling and rendering laptop

Summary: December 2023 best laptop for computing power under a thousand dollars. Handles CAD work and Gaming easily. The build quality of the device is somewhat lacking in quality. First the Pros: 1. I purchased this computer when my last Alienware went out as a more affordable alternative for higher-than-average computing power and mobility. I mainly use the device for 3d rendering tools like SolidWorks and TinkerCAD along with some light gaming. The device handles these with ease. Storage not being at least 1tb in 2023-2024 seems insane but I can use an external storage device to meet my needs (wish I didn't have to). 2. For the price I believe this could be the best on the market for December 2023. Competitors in the price range do not carry Intel processors or have Intel processors older than 2022. Cons: The only real cons I have are build quality. 1. Feels like if you were to press the power button hard it would invert on itself and break 2. The mouse pad is not super reactive for clicking and sometimes have to physically push down on the pad instead of tapping the pad. 3. Traditionally you see power plugs on the back or at least the back corner of laptops. This laptop has a power cable in the middle of the device along the left side. Makes using accessories and having a clean desk harder. I have owned this MSI laptop for about two years, and it has been a huge disappointment. Despite taking excellent care of it, it has developed serious problems. I have never used it on a bed or any fabric surface, never blocked the air vents, and I mostly keep it on my desk. I rarely even move it around. Over time, the laptop started overheating badly while gaming. The fans run at maximum speed, and even with an additional cooling fan underneath, the system still overheats and randomly restarts. These problems occurred despite normal use and proper ventilation. Recently, the BIOS became corrupted. I tried repairing Windows, reinstalling the operating system, and using the built-in recovery options, but the BIOS issues prevent the installation from completing properly. The boot settings keep resetting, making the system unreliable and practically unusable. To make matters worse, getting support from MSI has been difficult. For a product at this price point, I expected much better reliability and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this laptop. I expected it to last much longer than two years, especially considering how carefully I treated it.

This gaming laptop is, hands down, the best computer I've ever had! Faster than any computer I've ever owned or used, it boots up in less than 20 seconds, whereas my previous laptops would usually take around a minute to boot up. What's more? The graphics on this laptop are amazing. When I logged into Star Wars: The Old Republic, I instantly noticed an improvement to the game's visuals compared to how they looked on the laptop I was using just before this one. I couldn't be more satisfied with this laptop. If you're looking for a high-speed gaming laptop with awesome visuals and incredible performance, this might just be the one for you. It is recommended, though, that you get a good cooling pad to keep this laptop from overheating.

Waiting on some things to download but so far the benchmarking is showing it is a worthwhile upgrade over my old laptop. Laptop was very easy to open up (careful of the pins in the back they are very easy to snap upon inspection) Came with hardware and a free spot to install a 2.5" SATA SSD so I've got a lot more storage now. 2 ram slots are in use so 8GB each from factory. I am a little curious how well the cooling will work with just the one fan, but the copper tubing is much more than my 2 fan laptop. Temperatures stay stable around 70C under full load gaming. So far main issues is power consumption. Gaming at 1080p ultra definitely results in a power drain that the 120w charger cannot keep up with. Edit: After some research this is actually a feature of the MSI laptops to increase the longevity of battery capacity over time.

I have had MSI computers before ... I bought this one because my ASUS ROG got broken twice after a year (won't buy ASUS never again... It is just cheap garbage)... Moreover, this performs better than the ASUS one... And I just replaced the NVME SSD for another one faster and bigger, plus I reused the 32GB RAM from the Asus and I'm able to play any game with high quality and performance like Cyberpunk for instance... Few tricks to optimize it like fog quality and Ray Tracing reconstruction... But everything else set as ultra ... MSI is the best computer brand ever... Although I have PS5 and Xbox too and it gives same and even better quality than consoles.

La verdad no le he exigido tanto como puede, pude jugar muy bien Overwatch 2, obvio lol y algunos juegos de game pass, todos los corre bien, como dice en otros comentarios ocupa un abanico para que no se caliente, la pila le dura algunas 4 horas, le doy un uso convencional como trabajo de oficina, algo de edición de videos y los juegos que ya mencioné, la recomiendo? Si, es un equipo económico y muy bien equipado, a reserva de meterme a fondo en las configuraciones todo para lo que la compre lo puedo hacer.

Hasta ahora, una excelente laptop. Los juegos me van rapidísimo, no se calienta tanto y el rendimiento es increíble

Llevo casi un años con este equipo y sigue funcionando perfectamente. En cuanto al apartado de los videojuegos la he usado para jugar sekiro y funciona muy bien a 60 fps sin estar conectada a la luz y hasta 120 fps teniéndola conectada a la corriente. Lo único malo como con todas las computadoras gamer es que la batería dura muy poco pero se entiende.
