Great piece of equipment
I have an old 9 inch Stanley Claw Bar, which has been really useful and effective at digging out deeply embedded and difficult to remove nails, particularly when dismantling pallets for their wooden boards.I have tried various devices for extracting difficult nails, but have not found anything better than one of these claw bars. The right angle part of the Claw Bars can be hammered in to get under the head of the nail, with a moderate amount of bruising of the wood. However they have limited leverage for then pulling out stubborn nails, so a 3ft length of tubing over the straight section then provides the necessary leverage. The old 9 inch claw bar has been remarkably tolerant of such treatment, with only a moderate bending of the straight section. After several years of use, the old claw bar needed replacement, so I initially ordered a 10inch Roughneck Bonsai Claw Bar, but after waiting and waiting for it , I needed to get on with the job, so ordered this 12inch Stanley Claw Bar, which promptly arrived, is typically just 70p more expensive, and left the Roughneck on order. This 12 inch Stanley Claw Bar is every bit as good as the old 9 inch one, but the bigger head will be an advantage for wedging and prying things apart. After 15 days the 10 inch Roughneck arrived from Amazon, but the claw of that is thicker and more obtuse, so will be more difficult to hammer in and is not so well designed. The Stanley one appears to be a better design and has a longer straight section to give greater leverage. This is a really useful piece of equipment for extracting deeply seated stubborn nails, such as in pallets, shipping crates and old floorboards and is thoroughly recomended.

Perfect, durable and easy handling for starter carpenters
I started carpentry and for ages struggled getting nails out timber/ply wood and I ordered one of these bad boys!So so easy with one of these and so convenient so have on you while working with a roof or something. I’d certainly recommend buying this Stanley one if you need a nail bar.

So much better than I thought...
Really pleased I bought this. I needed to get 75mm nails out of 30yr old chipboard that was on several hundred year old oak beams that weren't going to release them for anyone. I tried everything before buying this and spent half a day removing 4 nails. It arrived this morning, day after ordering and I spent half a day removing 135 nails with it. It's very well designed and took a lot of heavy smacking and the 12" provided ample leverage. It did the job perfectly, only a few nails lost their heads. Do wear gloves though, I didn't because I'm stupid and now have a blister otherwise, can't fault it.

Really Good, worth it!
This is a Really Good product, and it was very good value. The ends are nice and sharp, and tapering to a narrow point to make it easier to get it under nails with heads embedded into the wood; it's got quite a lot of use and so far shows very little wear and tear!

A good addition to your tool box
Used this bar today for the first time to strip the stops from a door frame and got on really well with it; prised the stops off the frame with this and a hammer, then removed the resedue nails with the claw end. Job done. Fairly compact, light to use and effective. Just what you need in your tool box.

Stanley 0-55-115 Levachiodi Giapponese, 300 mm
