🌧️ Catch the Rain, Save the Planet!
The ZROYbmu Rain Water Catching System is a high-efficiency rainwater harvesting solution designed for residential use. It easily installs on standard downspouts (2x3 inches and 3x4 inches) and features a filtration system and PVC valve kit, making it an eco-friendly choice that helps conserve water and reduce utility bills.

Directions need work!
There are 2 different dimensions given for how much of the downspout to cut. That is confusing.I cut an 8 1/2" gap in our downspout and that worked perfectly.Other than the confusing dimensions it was easy to install. I used a hacksaw to get the cut started then finished with tin ships to get a cleaner line.We had very heavy rain last night and it worked perfectly. It completely filled our large rain barrel but never leaked. The plastic they used seems very high quality and has some weight to it.After one storm we are very happy. This would be a 4 1/2 star review (because of the poor instructions) if I could give it one.

Quality rain diverter
Rain diverter is constructed of high quality materials that are pvc compatible. Started with 50gal system, now at 150gal! Excess rainwater use for garden/lawn and takes 150gal out of saturated side yard at the same time. Easy install: 15 min. for 2×3" or 3x4".

Excellent design, generally. But see my notes about installation.
I am generally pleased with the design of this rainwater collector, which clearly operates according to the schematic diagram attached below. The device directs the entire flow of rainwater into a large collection annulus around the downspout’s circumference, thereby maximizing flow of the collected water through the PVC valve and auxiliary outlet. At the same time, this volumetrically-spacious design ensures that ALL the rainwater can easily spill from the annulus into the exit section of downspout — with little resistance – when the PVC valve and/or auxiliary outlet is closed.Indeed, after installing this device, as shown in the attached photo, I observed no spillover onto the lawn during a moderate rain. And I subsequently saw no evidence of spillover onto the adjacent lawn (no differential soggyness relative to the rest of the lawn) following a long, quite-heavy rainstorm. Moreover, I observed a good flow out the PVC valve when I left it open during moderate rain. (Even after that particular rain had stopped, when residual water on the roof was draining, I collected almost 1 gallon per minute in a bottle.)One gripe: the manufacturer’s recommended length of downspout to cut out, 9.3 inches, is in my experience too long. To accomplish a mechanically-secure installation after cutting out a 9.3 inch section, I needed to elevate the bottom section of rain spout a bit such that the resulting gap was instead 8.6 inches. Therefore, when installing this device, I strongly recommend cutting out a somewhat shorter section than 9.3 inches (maybe 8.6 inches like I ended up with) and subsequently trimming what’s left ONLY if you’re sure that you need a larger gap.Another minor gripe — the male threads on the PVC valve are apparently ¾ inch STRAIGHT threads, not pipe threads, and therefore don’t properly mate with the bulkhead-fitting’s ¾ inch female pipe threads. Not a big deal for a downspout — slow dripping out of the threads onto the lawn is hardly a big deal — but why? I ultimately used Teflon plumbing tape on the threads, making the Teflon layer especially heavy on the section of threads near the valve handle so as to deform into a gasket; seems to work.Further installation note: I recommend that installers allow an unobstructed section of downspout above this device, sufficiently long to allow the top section of the rain collector to be elevated above the bottom section, for maintenance — i.e., to allow for occasional cleanout of the bottom section.

Well-made but big and bulky looking
This rainwater diverter is made very well. The plastic is very thick and strong, not flimsy. I like that it will accommodate different size down spouts. It was easy to install. Cut a section off the down spout and slide the diverter in. The fittings are also made well. There are a couple of things I didn’t like about this diverter. First is the size. It is very bulky and looks out of place. I installed the diverter on the side of my house so no one can see it. I have another one of these diverters made by another company and it is much smaller, aesthetically looks much better. Second is the mounting holes. They are very small and should be bigger. The diverter was installed on a stucco wall and not wood, so the screws are bigger. Spring is here and we did not have any rain here for the past few weeks so not sure how well it collects rainwater. I will post an update later.

Sturdy downspout
I am impressed with the sturdiness of this downspout- seems like a quality downspout made of a thick pvc like material….Very sturdy and durable. Water where I live is costly so Immgoing to capture the rain for my garden.I like the following about this product--it is made of thick, hard plastic- fairly weighty so it is in no way flimsy or going to fly off from water pressure.-it appears very durable and I suspect it will last for years-it fits on a 3" x 4" rectangle downspout but can be adjusted to fit a 2” x 3” downspouts-it has a plastic strainer built in to capture the larger debris like leaves. They point downward so they are easy to empty the debris- no digging down into a trough to empty.-it is designed with hose outlets on both sides and it includes a valve you can attach on either side.-it is simple to install despite fairly vague instructions

Great quality. Works as required and expected
Manufactured in good quality material. Should last for years. It works perfectly and I can winterize it easily every year. Very good product.
