**Q: is this product septic safe?**
A: Yes. I was pretty sure it was. When I was a kid one of the houses we lived in had a septic tank and we used Comet. To be sure though I did a little search and found a comment from a person who has a septic tank and uses Comet: "I use a little Comet in my toilet. First flush the commode. Then sprinkle a little Comet and then brush as usual. I also have a septic system." I also found a manufacturers Data Sheet: Proctor and Gamble, Material Safety Data SheetUnder normal and foreseeable uses, there are no concerns for aquatic organisms exposed to product ingredients at the anticipated environmental concentrations. Relevant environmental data have been reviewed and these indicate that the product is compatible with down-the-drain disposal routes, including municipal wastewater treatment processes and septic tank systems. This product is intended for dispersive use and should not be disposed of directly into the environment.

Nothing cleans as well as Comet! Been using it for a few decades. Great for tile & grout in the kitchen and bathroom. Countetops, tub, shower, etc. It cleans toilets nicely too. Always been happy with it and it is a great price. It needs some elbow grease to scrub with but everything comes out super clean.

No need to talk about the product itself, comet is comet. My issue is with how they're packaged and the fact that there are no returns to this vendor. Seems to me that they *know* this is an issue. Luckily it's a powder and I'll be able to dump it into jars, but I opened the box at the office and had comet powder *everywhere* to contend with.
