Mine are 8" tall and ~4.5" diameter, with interesting inclusions, smoother more translucent planes, and rougher more crumbly bits. Dial dimmer works just fine, there is a little click at the off setting. Changing the bulb might be a pain because the plastic unit is really wedged in there tight and I'm not sure how I'd get it out without forcing/breaking it. Also, be aware that size variations are a thing. They are ROUGHLY the same size, but if you are looking for two lamps with great symmetry, it's no guarantee. Mine are not the same height.
