So there I was, wandering through Trader Joe’s, minding my own business, when it happened. I spotted the Barebells Vegan Protein Bar - Hazelnut & Nougat. “Oh, another protein bar,” I thought, completely jaded by countless chalky disappointments. But curiosity (and hunger) got the best of me. One bite in, and I blacked out. When I came to, I was clutching the wrapper with tears in my eyes, whispering, “Where have you been all my life?” This thing didn’t taste vegan—it tasted like someone melted a hazelnut dream into a bar and said, “Here, have muscles and dessert.” I did what any rational person would do: I returned to Trader Joe’s the next day and hoarded boxes like I was preparing for the vegan protein apocalypse. But even that wasn’t enough. The fear of running out was real, so I did what any unhinged snack lover would do—I ordered a stockpile from Amazon. Boxes arrived at my doorstep like hazelnut-filled care packages sent by the snack gods. Now, I’m swimming in bars like Scrooge McDuck, and I sleep better at night knowing I’ll never run out. Trader Joe’s employees recognize me, my Amazon delivery driver is concerned, but I have no regrets. 10/10, would panic-buy again. If loving Barebells is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

When I bought these exact Vegan protein bars, and the Vegan Salty Peanut flavor at Trader Joes, they were fresh, chewy and delicious. When I received these from Amazon, they were dried out and old. So disappointing. The expiration dates are 5 months earlier than those from the store, and they taste like they have already expired. Both this flavor and the Salty Peanut were the same. Dried out and old tasting. Barebells, you should require Amazon to send fresh protein bars, or it's a bad reflection on your company.

These are pretty good but also quite expensive for what you get. They taste nice and I like the texture of the outside with the hazelnut chunks. I wish the inside was a bit moister and chewier -- it's pretty dry. The macros could be better but they're good for a candy alternative or a quick protein boost.
