Back side reads from top down like I wanted.
Description on these 2 sided ones are not very helpful. I wanted a survey leveling rod I can put sensor at top and read higher than I can reach. Not a grade rod you read from ground up which most of the 2 sided ones on here are. Only way was able to tell this one was right is by pictures.

Fantastic measuring stick.
I use this stick for measuring high jump bar height. It is much better than a tape. The pieces move in a and out firmly but smoothly. This is a best recent purchase for me. The quality is great and it is very lightweight.

Great grade rod.
I bought this for occasional use. It is very sturdy and securly locking in place when extended. The end are reenforce with steel plating to protect the aluminum body. The numbers are highly visible. I wouldn't consider this construction grade, but with care will last a lifetime.
