Great light, poor instructions, poor amazon customer service
If you can get it programmed, this light is great. However, the design of the power cord inline controller, and the instructions for how to use it, suck. (Full disclosure: I have an IT background and consider myself a UX dweeb; I have a website devoted to the usability of medical software.) When I first got it, after reading the instructions, I was able to get it to the automatic 24-hour cycle. But then we had a several-hour power outage, and my wife found the lights shining brightly at 11 PM and simply pressed the power button to turn off the lights. This morning, I realized I needed to reset the timer for the 24-hour cycle. In the spirit of "if a door needs a user manual – even a one-word user manual – it's a design failure" I grabbed the inline controller and tried to figure out how to reset it. Press the 24-hour button? Did nothing. Press it several times? Did nothing. Maybe I need to press the 24 hour button and then the very flat 8 AM button? Nothing. Read the user instructions… didn't help. Looked on this page for more help… couldn't find any. OK, just press buttons at random to see what works. Finally figured it out.Press on/off button to turn unit on (essential) > press 24-hour button > wow, that "8 AM button" is a light that lights up! > press the 24-hour button a few times as those buttons (really lights) cycle through the day until I get back to 8 AM being lit > I'm back in business.**** UPDATE *** just a few days after purchasingI have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. The company contacted me about my concerns, right away, in a respectful way. I did offer specific recommendations for improving the user instructions, which they said they would use in the next revision of their instructions. They also offered a partial refund, which I declined, as I thought it would taint this review update. I will also add that now that I have discovered how it works, the user interaction design seems pretty simple. In UX terms, not very discoverable but very learnable and memorable. When the power goes out, and I reset the timing for the 24 hour cycle, it's really quite easy now that I know how. I did put a label on the aquarium as a reminder but it's really pretty superfluous once I showed my wife how to do it. It is a "see one, do one, teach one" sort of skill. But then, I found out that someone – not me – had requested a replacement unit. I had no problem with the unit, just the instructions. I received the replacement unit without my request and was going to give it away until amazon demanded I return the original. Despite an hour of trying, I was unable to contact amazon to let them know this was a spurious return; I would end up at a dead end with both the text chatbot and the voice chatbot where none of the options applied. One star for amazon.com's customer service.

Working great, but one product suggestion
My actual rating is 4.7 ⭐️s. This size light fit perfectly for my purposes - 48” length 55 gal tank. Installation was super easy (one wire connection and end brackets). The light was up and programmed in less than 10 min. There is versatility in lighting options and the light can be customized. My fish like the simulated daylight cycle. The blue moonlight cycle has definitely conditioned them for sleeping purposes.I confess to dropping this light and while I would not recommend trying this at home for repeat results, there is no damage visible or in practical use.I give the remote ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it is not truly a “remote” control, it is an in-circuit control as it is wired into the light. I will say that the incorrect use of “remote” in the control descriptions was pretty common in this particular product with several brands making the same mistake. On thing I wish this and other products like this would have - little rubber washers to push into place to keep the end brackets at a certain measurement and keep the light more stable when working in the aquarium.

Lighting choices are amazing
I love the 24 hour setting. It goes from sunrise (reddish hue) to abundant sunshine (white light) to a dusk/nighttime (blue). It's fantastic!! Get one for your tank, you won't be disappointed!

Good but.....
Wish this was brighter on the 24 hour mode. On just regular on/off mode I can crank the brightness up to max and it throws a nice even light (although even that could be a little brighter). Plenty of timer combinations to try - not sure I've even figured them all out yet. If I want the sunrise/sunset options - I just put it on the 24 hour mode. If I want to babysit it a bit, I go with the regular on/off mode and adjust the brightness myself at the appropriate times. ALL of these lights are ridiculously expense and I think this is a good value for the category it is in. It does not have a flimsy feel to it. I have a 29 gallon long and can confirm that it easily spans the length of the tank.

Wonderful aquarium light
I love this aquarium light! It cycles thru 6 lighting settings, simulating sunrise to dusk. The first one is an Amber light, which I haven't taken a photo of, but the last one is blue, for dusk, right before it shuts off for the night. It would glow blue all night for moonlight, but I don't have it on that setting. You can choose between 6, 10 or 12 hour lighting rotations. My plants are LOVING it!!! They are really growing beautifully under this light, and the fish do too. When the lights turn blue they start slowing down, then when it turns off for the night they find their favorite spots in the aquarium to sleep. I just upgraded to a 40 breeder aquarium, so I'll be ordering this aquarium light again in the appropriate size for that bigger tank. I'll keep and use this current light in my smaller tank for growing plant babies and for a maternity aquarium for any pregnant fish to lay their eggs in. I'll also use it for my guppy fry so they don't get eaten by the adult fish.

Multicolor LED light
Plenty bright for our 29 gallon aquarium. We use the timed sequence lighting with rather nice effect. The brightness levels do smooth gradual transitions. I think the internal clock is a little off as it is slowly advancing over time (weeks) eventually requiring resets. If there is a power failure it will need to be reset. To reset timing, power off then on at the time you want one of the transitions to occur then quickly set that transition. That should set the lightings start. We have found that the various lighting/color shift have differing run length times so planning when to do a specific start time takes a little practice.

Illuminates my aquarium beautifully!
The media could not be loaded. This is a great light. It’s def reasonably priced and works very easily. I bought two!! One stays on the 24 hr setting and makes it effortless. The other is easily adjusted as the day goes on.

Missing parts
Light is bright and works well! Only thing is we were not sent the actually legs for it so it can fit onto the tank… so it is missing a key component. Would give it 5 stars if they send us the parts we’re missing!

Functionality
Used on my 55gal aquarium. LED's are bright and make the tank look great. I like the 24h feature. It would be nice if it was more adjustable for when it transitions through its light settings but for the price I'm just nitpicking. When one of my other tanks needs a new light I would by another one.

I LOVE this light
I just put the 24hr mode on and it automatically cycles through each of the lights, as well as turning completely off during the night. My plants love it and my tank has never looked better. It’s a good option if you are looking for a new light that not only lights the tank really well but helps your aquarium’s plants grow too.

Amazing tank light!
The light that came with our fish tank died so we bought this one. It's incredible! Way better then what our tank came with. ( just on and off)This light gives a sunrise effect ( as seen in photo, more orange in the morning) and then darkens In the evening until it goes blue for night. It also does multi colors. Very impressed.

Awesome!
Works awesome for my 20 gallon tank. My beta fish loves the light and is more active. Love the 24 hour option that mimicks a real day's light cycle. Better than I thought and worth the price!!
