Q: How long a shelf life does the 1kg tub have?

I've just finished my last one (new one bought) and the date on the first one was July2017, the new one has a date of Jan 2018. I think they come as 'standard' with nearly a couple of years on their expiry date.It's full of salty goodness. It doesn't go off :-) I just keep my tub in the pantry. It's cold but not chilled like a fridge.I've been eating the stuff for more than twenty years; it's very stable and lasts well. The bigger plastic tub has a good fitting lid too, and it stays cleaner than a jar of marmite. Vecon's not sticky the way marmite is, and it is excellent as a stock, a savoury drink or as a spread.Kind regards,Mary Craig

It is a paste. It tastes more like marmite than the others but has its own unique taste. It is quite dark in colour and very rich flavour. I have it on subscribe and save cos I use it so much, and my mum does too.

Q: Can you use this without diluting with water first? So just add straight to the dish?

I have always added some hot water to it to make it more liquid. I treat it like a stock cube, if you don't dissolve an oxo it will probably lie in one area of your cooking. I use vecon extensively for sauces and soups - it is delicious.

Q: What's the expiration date /shelf of current stock?

I have had mine for ages now as of todays date of 15th December 2021 and it is still good up to July 2022. Hope this helps.
