I needed to get another pocket hole jig and thought I'd check some of the better options for hand tools as opposed to all-in-one machines. The Howod was highly rated and the reviews were glowing but that seemed odd since I'd never heard of them.Wow. 10/10. Great packaging, easy to follow user manual with full color photos and clear consise English instructions, a few pocket hole screws, some plugs, well made allen wrenches and that's not even talking about the tool yet. The hole jig is just as good as the accoutrements and works very well. The laser engraved measurements are easy to read, precise(metric and Imperial), the drill bits(2) are sharp, feel solid and cut clean holes, even in stringy plywood. The 1 1/4" dust collection port bolts right on with a bondus tipped wrench. From what I can tell the body is all aluminum while most of the rest is stainless steel apart from the two brass adjustment knobs and the dust port being a sturdy plastic. It's all very nice looking and feeling. I'll be on the lookout for more Howod tools.

This is a solid, hefty jig. It is finely machined, and has precise measurements engraved into the base and guide. Two identical drill bits with adjustable collars, two screw drivers (long and short), the needed hex wrenches, spanner and a small supply of screws and finishing wedges come with it. The separate drill guide is also useful - if you clamp it, make sure the clamp doesn't block the waste hole!It is nicely presented, snuggly packed in a strong box.I drilled 12 pocket holes to attach a side-table top. Very easy and precise.The brief but adequate instructions state that I can email the company for 500 free screws - it was worth reading to the end!

The jig is really nice. However, both the drill bits that came with the kit were so horrible that they wouldn't drill through poplar--at all. Not even a little. They would only go about 1/2" into soft pine--but only with extreme pressure. I've thrown out old, used bits that were more than twice as capable as these. I had to go to the store and purchase a pocket hole drill bit before I could even test the jig. I mention this because it's worth factoring the cost of a new bit ($6.00, generic-15.00, blue company) when you're comparing this to other jigs in this price range.All that said, the jig itself is very well-made and once you purchase a decent, sharp bit, then it functions wonderfully. The clamp works wonderfully, it's easy to adjust, and the drill bit collar setting gauge on the jig is a nice feature. I also like that they included an additional, portable slider holder for projects that are too big or already built. Very, very versatile and well-thought-out.

I had been searching for just the right pocket hole jig for quite some time. I bought a cheap jig that I found difficult to set up; I didn’t like it at all.I didn’t want to spend $150 on one made of plastic, so my search continued—until last week. As I was looking, once again, at a google search this Howod popped up. I'd never heard of the brand. The reviews I read piqued my curiosity. They were so impressive that I decided to place an order for it.When it arrived I learned that the reviews had been spot on. It’s a small unit, but as they say dynamite comes in small packages. This is so well designed and manufactured that it looks like a precision part of some type of spacecraft. There’s no plastic anywhere.As can be seen in the photos, the company includes all the hardware needed to set it up and start drilling. The exhaust is just as impressive as its construction. I drilled sixteen holes and what little residue you see is all that didn’t get sucked up by the vacuum.I’m glad I waited for so long to find just the right jig. The quality of the Howod jig is beyond compare, especially when the cost is considered. For the modest price, I’m sure, you won’t find a better jig.
