Works wonderfully but makes the door jamb tight
These are a necessity in our house as we have a child with extra needs who has a strong urge to escape. We place this high on the door where she is unable to reach. When she climbs, she is also unable to use the mechanism. It’s easy to install and easy for adults to use. My only complaint is that it makes the door very tight in the jamb and can sometimes stick. But if you’re already trying to reinforce your locks that might not be the worst thing in the world.

Very smooth and simple doorstop
This device is everything advertised: simple to use, clean lines, trouble-free and VERY effective at making you door more invasion-resistant and solid! In the bronze color it also becomes nearly invisible when mounted on a wooden (mahogany or similar) finished door. Only took about 15 minutes to install , with one screw to set/adjust and then two others to fix the secure location. I used a drill with pilot but to insure the fit up went well and minimize split wood on the doorframe. All in all, a near perfect (and simple) installation for better home security!

Update: installed, works as expected, I would recommend.I just received this and wanted to take a good look before install. You can see from the pictures that the screws provided are (4) 2- inch screws and (4) 1- inch screws. To me the metal feels pretty solid, but I'm not a metal worker-- it doesn't feel like aluminum, it feels like steel.I only bought this because my master bedroom doesn't have a lock and I don't want to install something that one of my kids can play with and lock themselves in or out. This is the best option, in my opinion, for privacy while in my bedroom that my kids can't touch since I'll install it above the toddler's reach. Since I don't need it for security, I'll probably just use the provided hardware.If you want better security, I recommend buying 3- inch screws.
