It did take some of the paint off the windowsill

Q: Why are the last three Clawguards I have ordered blue and not clear?

There is Blue protective plastic on them. Just pull it off.

Q: Can you easily cut these to fit length wise without them cracking?

It's possible. It's extremely fragile. I ordered two. One came cracked out of the box, and was sent back. The other, I tried cutting and it to size, but did crack on me. Taped it together, but look like cr*p. I ended up tossing it out. Recommend trying to find another product.
