It is light so it can tip if knocked into. Perfect for what I was looking for.

poor design
The first design flaw is simply having the on/off switch 17" from the lamp on a 42"cord. Certainly limits placement. The second is more problematic. Even the smallest bulb reaches to or above the top of the shade. Looking for a nice little bedside lamp, this isn't it. Nice idea but poorly implemented.
