much better versions available free online

Dreadful. That is lacks the illuminations, as noted in other reviews, is a shame, but moreover the text has multiple corruptions and is laid out awfully. The works are not complete because some of the poems in 'Songs of Innocence and Experience' are repeated in place of the one's that should be there. It is laid out in a way that makes no sense and is not faithful to Blake's work, and it is saturated with errors. Works aren't even presented in a chronological order. Very disappointing, much better versions available free online. Also very expensive for what is no more than printing of bad pdfs of his writings.

the complete works is a highly misleading title. It contains possibly all of his written works but is devoid of any of his illustrations, which was the reason i chose the book . the title is a lie. very very disapointed

The Definitive Collection

William Blake, immortalised by some of his most famous poems, has produced a spectrum of writing which reflects his life as a 'madman'. Primarily, Blake was a print-maker who created his own method of combining text and image. He called this 'illuminated printing', and he adapted it for iconic literature such as 'The Divine Comedy' and 'The Bible'. One of the most interesting aspects of Blake's work is his own invented mythology, which he named 'The Four Zoas'. In his time, Blake was considered a strange man, suffering from what he described as religious visions, and claiming to speak to the dead regularly. By reading his complete poetry, plays, annotations and letters chronologically, readers can see how his opinions and beliefs changed throughout his lifetime.
