The original met it's demise when my heel somehow whacked it while stumbling into the shower early one morning, said original being in service for about 20 years. So if the new unit lasts that long I won't complain! I used the original mounting hardware (plastic "finger" nuts) instead of the metal nuts and lock-washers that came with the new assembly - simply because it was more convenient. I did not need or use the included shower head and feed pipe (put them away as spare parts.)So it works fine, looks shiny, but it's still a piece of plastic! So, like another reviewer, I can't find it within myself to give an inexpensive plastic thing five stars! However, provided it doesn't get whacked by a foot or other object, it should give years of service. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Phoenix tub/shower Valves *by W***E on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on July 14, 2017* These Phoenix tub/shower valves are not the best quality. Mostly plastic except for brass stems. Unfortunately when replacing an existing Phoenix valve you don't have many better options.Installation is easy if you have access to the back side of the valve. After you turn the water off to the house disconnect the 1/2" nuts on the shower riser as well as the hot and cold water. Then unscrew the 1/2" nuts on the hot and cold side of the valve body. Once you have it removed go around to the bathroom side of the wall and clean up the tub where the old faucet was installed. If the tub surround is rough or uneven you might want to put a little plumbers putty or silicon under the mounting plate to seal it. Then repeat the steps (in reverse) you did to remove the old faucet. Don't over tighten the mounting nuts or you could strip the plastic threads. (The nuts are metal) Turn the water back on and test the faucet. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Replacement for existing Modular Home faucet. *by E***W on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on June 17, 2014* Needed a replacement faucet and decided on this one. Very easy to replace, took about 5 minutes. I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for, not many options available. Yes it is plastic but then again finish may not corrode like more expensive big box store ones, Also 8" spacing limits what is available. So far very happy. Turns on, turns off, diverter works fine and no leaks. Simple installation.
