Sound Phonics Phase Five Book 1 is a one-per-child activity book, focusing on: revising Phase Three graphemes practising 19 new graphemes for reading (including some split digraphs) 'sounding out' words without 'sound buttons' practising spelling through counting phonemes, recognising spelling patterns or applying spelling rules. As 'key workers' in the pandemic she was able to attend school during Reception but it was never going to be the same and we didn't want her to fall behind (compared to pre Covid) once she went into Year 1. She really took to this workbook and powered through the first half in a day or two. She was really happy that she was able to do everything (as were we). The book starts to get progressively more difficult but still achievable for the age range. She enjoyed getting challenged and it was nice for us as parents to have something structured to go through with her at home and not just rely on school. Daughter loved this
Fortunately my 5 year old loves learning. We bought this a few months into Year 1 (ages 5 to 6) to help her develop at home as well as at school. Best buy for supplementing learning to read
Best buy for supplementing learning to read. Really helps with progression of phonics for children and adults who struggle to read/ read English as second language. Would definitely recommend using alongside reading books

Brilliant book
These books are brilliant. I can't rate them highly enough. My 6 year old loves them and they have greatly helped her with double sounds. Lovely pictures and child friendly activities, all at a great price!

Pages filled in.
I usually get my books straight from Schofield and Sims but didn’t this time and wish I had. Sadly the book came and this is just a couple of the pages that were filled in. Other than these pages it came on time and almost pages are as good as new.

These books are wonderful teaching tools for home use. My spirited 4 year old is kept entertained whilst learning.
