Review: Alloy-Gator Protectors. - Following an interaction with the nearside front alloy and a kerb, finding this product was great!!! Why oh why hadn’t I heard of them before? Easy to fit, looks great and provides great protection for my alloys. Due to driving an automatic vehicle it was easier to take each wheel off to both clean and fit the protective inserts. Took about an hour and I was getting faster by the wheel. Really impressed.

Great alloys protector, saves hundreds on wheel refurb. Great product.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Durable, discreet, and built for impact—protects your alloys from kerb rash,
*by G***E on 21 September 2025*

If you’re running decent alloys and don’t fancy shelling out for a refurb every time a kerb jumps out at you, this kit’s a smart investment. Designed to sit between the tyre bead and rim, these protectors offer full-edge coverage without glue, tape, or gimmicks. The black finish keeps it stealthy—no flashy trim, just clean protection. 🧰 Installation Let’s be honest—this isn’t a five-minute job. You’ll need to deflate the tyre slightly, clean the rim edge, and use the supplied clips and mallet to seat the protector properly. It’s a snug fit, and once it’s in, it stays put. I did mine in about 40 minutes with a mate and a bit of patience. No adhesive means no mess, and they’re reusable if you swap tyres later. Tip: If you’re not confident, a tyre shop can fit them for a small fee. Worth it if you want it done right. 🛡️ Build Quality Made from a reinforced nylon composite—flexible enough to absorb impact, rigid enough to hold shape. They’ve taken scrapes from kerbs, gravel, and even a rogue pallet corner without cracking or popping out. The black finish is matte, not glossy, so it blends in with most wheel styles and doesn’t show dirt easily. Durability: Survived motorway runs, heavy rain, and rough terrain No fade or warp after months of use Easy to clean with standard wheel cleaner 🚗 Compatibility Fits wheels from 12" to 24" Works best with tyre profiles 45 and above Not ideal for ultra-low profiles—can interfere with bead seating Available in 15 colours, but black keeps it subtle and clean 👍 Pros ✅ Full rim protection—edge-to-edge coverage ✅ No adhesive—secure mechanical fit ✅ Reusable—can be refitted after tyre changes ✅ Tough nylon blend—resists kerb rash and impact ✅ Subtle styling—black blends with most alloys ✅ MOT-safe—doesn’t interfere with tyre performance 👎 Cons ❌ Fitting takes effort—deflate tyres and use a mallet ❌ Not suited for ultra-low profiles—check clearance ❌ Adds slight bulk—may not suit show builds ❌ Can trap dirt—needs occasional clean behind the lip
