Wireless CarPlay Adapter for Factory Wired CarPlay, Wireless Dongle for CarPlay Cars from 2017 and iPhone iOS 12+, Plug & Play, Online Update

Purchased this device a couple of weeks ago. The first step you do is update the software by plugging into any USB slot and using your phone for the connection. Took about 5 minutes. Next, connected the device the the appropriate Carplay USB slot. Then I connected my iPhone via Bluetooth to the device. That's it! Each time I get into my car it takes about 15 seconds for the connection to my iPhone. After a week of use, I installed it on my daughter's car that has a touch screen. I just connected it to the correct Carplay USB slot. Performance was terrific. The touch screen was very quick when making selections, no delay or lag. I was amazed. Performance can be different depending on your car. My Audi S5 doesn't support calls when Carplay is active with this device, but my daughter's VW Tiguan does. Calls were very clear - no cutout or static.

UPDATED: After weeks of use; it is perfect. I realized the lag time is no longer than when you plug in the iPhone and recognizes the USB. There is an android version as well and suspect it also works the same. It's a 5 plus star item.This is great - how often do you leave your phone connect to the vehicle and then realize it's there. This way, leave. your phone in your pocket, purse, etc... it connects automatically once installed to Apple Car Play (another version available for Android). There is a few mili-second to a second delay when turning the vehicle on - and it works perfectly once it's connected. No need to get out your phone. From my research, it is the smallest form factor which is a key component for me. So far so good... Highly recommend.

These devices don't work! This is the third one I've tried. Don't waste your time. They are really the same electronics from the same factory with just a different cover. I had one that was clearly a return item shipped out as new since I could see the previous owner's phone name! This device while it would connect would not work! You couldn't play any music or pod casts. I've given up on these devices - they just don't work. It's a waste of time and resources. Its just pollution since ultimately they will get thrown away in the trash.

Overall this works quite well in my Volvo T8 R-design.It plugs in easily and is recognized by the car quite well.However, it sometimes (not always, but maybe 1 out of 10 times, doesn't seem to connect to the phone properly leaving the car play on the screen, but not actually streaming it from my iPhone 15. Sometimes it connects after a few minutes sometimes it just leaves a black screen and requires the car to be turned off, door opened to restart the entertainment system.Also very annoying is you can't change the name of the devices. So your car play device is named something like Smart-E1DC.

The media could not be loaded.  This product is fantastic! The only thing that makes this product a bit difficult is the setup, which requires you to follow the instructions to the letter, but once this is done properly, the product works exactly as intended.The receiver takes a USB-C input and includes two small cables that are UBS-C to USB-C (for vehicles with a USB-C receiver) and a USB-A to USB-C (for vehicles with a USB-A receiver). From starting my car to the wireless taking over takes about 30 seconds, which you can see in the video (the video cuts off once the integration is complete - my iPhone won't allow for CarPlay and video to be recording at the same time), which is the same amount of time it takes to connect on a car with built-in wireless CarPlay. For reference, I drive a 2018 Hyundai Elantra (which comes standard with wired CarPlay) and I have an iPhone SE.I highly recommend this product! Now I won't have to take my phone out and plug it in every time i get into the car, really saves me time!

The media could not be loaded.  I bought one wireless CarPlay adapters and after using it for less than a day a bought a second for the other car! The set up was extremely easy with no issues whatsoever. Simply connect it to the stereo via usb, find it in your Bluetooth settings, Pair and follow the prompts.I recently tired with a second phone and it connects to that phone too. Which one it selects is more of a gamble but that’s not the fault of the device more so because of how Apple connects to Bluetooth devices. If it selects the wrong phone just disconnect the wifi on your phone and it prompts you to disconnect from CarPlay. It should connect to the other phone next.It’s much smaller than the stock photos would make you believe. I put a quarter next to it and an iPhone mini for scale. This makes it very easy to hide once you’ve connect it to your cars usb.It connects via Bluetooth to find the device then switches over to wifi for the sending of information. The result makes a smooth CarPlay with no noticeable downgrade in audio quality. I have recommended it to friends and I would buy it again if I had a third vehicle.

Bought two devices for two different vehicles, after testing the first unit for a few days.Installed second device, threw boxes out, was super happy with my purchases.Now both units work intermittently, in two different vehicles. Tried different devices to see if it was hardware related, but always the same issues.Sometimes the USB can’t be read.Sometimes the Device doesn’t BT connect.Sometimes the “phone” doesn’t respond (…with multiple and different devices…Sometimes it just doesn’t work.Bought these devices to not have to plug a wire - now I need to troubleshoot 2 out of 3 times.Would return them for my money back, but after a week running smoothly, thought they were great and threw both boxes out…

I bought 2 and they both work great. I would though unplug it when not in use for it stays on and I would be a little worried about it wearing out too fast, at least in my ram where it stays on while the truck is turned off, I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a wireless CarPlay for your vehicle, but remember this only works if you already have CarPlay.

Been using this device for over a week now and I am satisfied. Though there were instances that the volume is loud and it doesn’t respond when I turn the know down. Usually happens 1st thing when I start my car. But overall I am happy!

Great little device to add the convenience of wireless CarPlay to my Maverick. I used alien tape to stick it up under the dash and ran the cords into the usb-c outlet. Once in a while it waits for my watch to disconnect before connecting but other than that I works well. Would definitely recommend this adapter.
