This is a review for WellNest Store Lion’s Mane Mushroom Organic SupplementI’m a fan of Lion’s Mane -(Hericium erinaceus)-which has been studied with regard to anti-aging and neuroprotection ,and has been found to enhance memory and cerebellar neurogenesis .The first thing I noticed was the wooden (sustainable bamboo) lid on the container . The container itself ismade of sturdy 100% recycled cardboard, not plastic. The container appears to be lined with aluminized paper for the protection of the contents so for that reason it might not be possible to recycle it (again) . On the other hand the label seems to peel off readily, leaving us with cute reusable storage containers with wooden lids.I like that there is a lot of information provided about their practices.The extract is made though cold-press freeze drying which I had not heard of, so I looked it up. This is a solventless process that uses no heat , water, gas, alcohol, or other chemicals that keeps the plantsessences mostly intact.The 500mg capsules are easy to swallow. It might be my imagination but the contents of the jar seem to smell like mushroom.The larger size package of 200- 500 mg capsules provides 100 1 gram servings (2 capsules). 100grams is about 1/4 lb , so this is 1/4 lb of high quality Lion’s Mane Extract , nicely encapsulated in vegetarian capsules. This vitamin has unique packaging. It has a wooden top with a bird and company motto carved into the top. The rest is a heavy cardboard that is recyclable. It's certified USDA organic by NFC. It's made in the USA. On the package it references the extraction method, where all of the mycelium is discarded leaving the fungus' nutrients and active enzymes. The also use a freeze drying method prior to grinding to maintain freshness.Lion's mane is touted for its cognitive benefits, supporting concentration, productivity, and mental clarity. It is also considered an ally for your immune system and helps support the growth of healthy gut flora.This vitamin doesn't expire until 12/2024 giving it over a year's shelf life.

I wanted to try Lions Mane mushrooms since hearing about them from a natural cooking show, but found it difficult to choose which brand. There are so many options and they're not cheap. Then this opportunity came along and I grabbed it. When I received the (beautiful) package, I did some research and I was thrilled with the transparency and honor of this company. I've been taking one per day as I always start small to see how I react, and so far all my reactions have been positive. I can't tell you exact specifics of improvements, but I do feel better overall and attribute it to the Lions Mane, as nothing else has changed. That's good enough for me, so I will be moving up to two per day as recommended. I hope the improvements will be more definitive and perhaps more specific. Either way, I'm really happy taking these supplements and when I buy more, it will be from Wellnest. The product is excellent, the packaging is recycled and recyclable (and looks great), and I'm happy that it's organic, tested and proven. This really is a wonderful supplement and this particular brand seems trustworthy enough to continue supporting. I love a good symbiotic relationship!
