AD Pro Car Diagnostic Tool, Bidirectional Control Obd2 Scanner

I’m a fifty-something car enthusiast, ADHD brained, with two project cars. Every weekend is a different challenge. I bought this to deal with a specific problem: replacing a couple of control modules and tweak my ECU s as I didn't want to melt my wallet at the main dealer.This machine is pitched at both the keen DIY enthusiast and the Pro/independent garage. For the money, I reckon it nailed it.The Good BitsThe big draw for me was the ECU coding and the 2-way communication (active tests). Having the power to tell the new BCM, TCM, or ABS Module what it’s supposed to be doing, (or be a clone of the old modules,) is the crucial bit. We’re talking features typically locked up in tools that could cost over £3,500 that only your main dealer could afford and charge you the premium to use it, (not knocking the main dealers, they have big overheads!) This scanner gets you past that barrier. The bi-directional control, where you can command a fan or injector to turn on, genuinely saves hours of testing. I also use it before my car goes in for an MOT, like testing bulbs. I even found an option to check functionality for emissions! I mean not the emissions directly but the health of the components that usually cause you MOT fail woes. (I haven't tested that yet but I got a little excited when I cycled through the options.)Another winner: Integrated Search. The OBD reader lets you look up the fault code directly from the unit to 'google it.' No more grubby hands on your phone, (or if you are like me, "where's my ruddy phone!!")Case Upgrade: I didn't realise this at the time but when I was putting it away. I noticed they put a plastic divider in the case to stop the cables pinching the unit .It really is a small detail but shows clever design.The Snags.I can't complain because it's NOT a £3k machine but If I tried to look for stuff:The Cable: It's a DCI and I was hoping for a VCI, (wireless.) You are physically tethered to the OBD port. You lose the freedom of a wireless connection, but I checked myself... When it came to writing to the ECU what would you trust more? Not only did I use the cable, I screwed that puppy into the unit. The last thing I wanted was data dropouts whilst writing to a component module or heaven forbid the ECU!!! So really the trade-off is a more stable, faster data connection. Again, I can't really complain, it's just forcing me to be a bit safer.Coding Limits: It does ECU Coding and adaptations brilliantly, (perfect for replacing most modules like a BCM or TCM), but it stops short of full OE-level ECU flashing/programming or topology mapping. But again, It's an almost-Pro tool, not the full £3k+ professional kit. So if you think it is all things for all cars, you aren't paying for that. Not even those expensive ones are. in reality it's also down to the car in what you can do.Initial Setup Lag: The first time you fire it up, you have to connect to Wi-Fi, register, and download the software packages. It's a proper time-sink. Top tip: just download your car’s manufacturer and system updates first if you want to dive straight in, and let it download the rest of the updates later.The VerdictFor the mobile mechanic or the more adapt weekend warrior, especially if you have to swap out those pesky control boxes (BCMs, TCMs, etc.), or want bi-directional communication to control an test components, buy it. The money it saves on dodging just one garage visit makes it worth the price.p.s. There's more I could write but my day job, the one that actually pays the bills, (as my hobby doesn't!!) is demanding my time. I can't wait for the weekend :D

I would recommend this tool to anyone, professional technicians and DIYers alike.First of all it comes in a tough carry case withplenty of leads and connectors. The scanner itself isn't too big and has a comfy feel in the hand. Once you're ready to use it, it'll take a couple of minutes to set the date, language etc. It allows you to set up to a WiFi connection and you can also add business details so you can share the reports with your customers via email.Well packaged, strong storage case.Easy to use, professional high level quality data and options.Automatically finds the vin code amd vehicle, really easy to update.Does all the features of my old machine that was twice the price when bought originally. Covers a huge amount of vehicles and has extra leads for models that are not OBD compatible. I was a little unsure when buying as they are fairly new to this huge market but I’m so pleased I did as it does everything they say it will and more.

I purchased this to attempt to fix my wife’s car that had developed a fault. It was very easy to set up and packed down into a small box which made carrying around easy.It was very easy to connect to WiFi and to find the correct vehicle once connected to the car itself.This is where I had issues, I will add not down to the machine or the product itself but merely down the my wife’s car. The diagnostics would not carry out the features I needed and they seem to be a Mercedes only function that is locked out by other diagnostics.The actual product itself is a fantastic diagnostics with a massive range of functions and abilities that seem very impressive. I would imagine you in normal circumstances you would be able to complete 99% of all tasks.I returned the item with zero issues and received a full refund after it wasn’t able to do what I needed which was fantastic and trouble free. Don’t let this put you off as the amount of functions was incredible, I just couldn’t justify keeping it as I wasn’t able to use it for the one thing I needed. If I had a bit of extra money left over I would definitely purchase another to keep around for any further issues.

Once in you have a range of things you can do, such as, read DTCs, live data, bi-directional controls etc. If you use the services tab you can carry out service light resets, reset the BMS, brake wear, relearn different sensor values, carry out a DPF regen etc.Struggling to understand the DTC? Not a problem, if you're hooked up to a WiFi connection you can click the arrow and it'll take you to a Google search relating to that code, for the vehicle you're on, showing different websites and youtube videos.Another neat feature is the scanner will be charged when connected to a vehicle.All in all I am really impressed with this machine. It really is awesome. So if you're looking for a good diagnostic machine with a whole host of different abilities and you're on a budget, then I'd highly recommend the TopDon ArtiDiag Pro

I received the Artidiag Pro a few weeks ago & after using it on several vehicles, I'm nothing but impressed with it!It's provided with a sturdy case & a selection of cables (although I've only used the standard OBII connector). The tool has a nice large, very clear screen & overall feel solid.A clear setup guide book is included, however setup is fairly self explanatory. The only thing to note is after setup, an hefty update was required which took about an hour.So far I've used it on Fords, Volvos & a Jaguar & it's been able to do everything I've required. Service resets, battery exchange, parking brake reset, simulations etc etc. The list of manufactures/vehicles is huge, some of which I've never heard of, so it will cover everything I ever need.The only thing I feel could improve it is if it had a BT connector rather than wired cable, but at this price I can't complain!Overall, very impressed & would definitely recommend to any DIYer or small garage!

In the last year this has more than paid for itself. I have knocked two stars off as support is by email only unless you purchase direct from Topdon.It's also disappointing that with all the functions it does have it doesn't have the facility to bleed to ABS on a common car like the Astra - as confirmed by UK support.It did however help me narrow down which door switch was faulty on our daughters Astra and the active grill fault on our own Astra. It was probably worth the money for the hours of diagnosing it saved. Would I buy it again, probably not. Getting support is crucial bleeding the brakes should be a common feature. I'd buy something with this feature and better support.

I brought this product after speculating whether to update my old Launch X431.This product was nearly the same costs as the updates alone for my Launch and having had that a few years i thought it cannot be long before that tablet/hardware will probably give up so i decided to bite the bullet and purchase a new diagnostics machine from TOPDON. Straight out the box it worked connected to WiFi seamlessly and then furthermore began to install the updates to the machine which was just what I needed.Size comparison the images show it side by side to the Launch X431 its almost identical in size if not a little smaller has a lovely kick stand which means it can be stood up on a dashboard or over a steering wheel whilst carrying out diagnosis.Responsive touchscreen with functionality and the boot time is far quicker than the launch.To date i have tested this on 20 different vehicle makes and models and it has performed, matched and out performed the older diagnostics machine in terms of functionality.This is a wired OBD connection to the tablet which does limit the distance you can be whilst carrying out diagnostics however I do believe TOPDON have launched a Bluetooth version at a slightly higher cost however i havent really found this to be too much of a limitation to its use.It comes with a compact tough case which is completely foam lined and enables you to keep the diagnostics and all of its connectors and cables safely stored away.Overall this product is definitely a 10/10 product if in the future there was an option to have a WIFI/ Bluetooth dongle add on i would happily pay for it . I would say its perfect for home use or garage workshop use at a professional level.

So i brought this machine to do some programming and diagnostics on 4 cars. Out of the box it looks very sturdy and once its turned on and the many, many, many updates downloaded and installed it boasts lots of features and functions and the car list is endless. This unfortunatly is where it starts to be a let down.The first car was a VW scirroco, not a rare car by any means but the required job which was a DPF regen didnt work. All I got was "function not supported" infact all of the "special functions" came up with same message. The worst thing was that you have to go through several options and it will take you right to the last step before saying "NO".Second car was a Ford Smax which requires Window Learn, a simple task that you can do maunally by holding down a the window button in a certain order. But this machine couldnt do that either and the common "Function not supported" shows its ugly head again. Also tried to program a Start/Stop battery which was met with the same serror message.Third car was a Ford Focus, which just required a scan and diagnosis which was simple enough and it done it like any other diagnostic toolFinal car was a Vauxhall insignia that needed a steering angle sensor reset and relearn. There were no error codes present before the programming because the sensor was damaged whilst taking the steering wheel off so the battery was dissconnected. After the very quick programming i had a list of fault codes as long as my arm which werent there before hand. There was a message that popped up after the calibration that said i will need to do a full DTC scan afterwards and clear the codes. I didnt quite understand why the procedure would cause fault codes on sensors and modules that have nothing to do with the steering angle sensor or steering in general?All in all its very dissapointing and very limited. The cars i used it on were very popular cars and between 7 and 10 years old. I have done the same procedures using a diagnostic tool a quarter of the price. Its basicly an outdated Andriod tablet with 2GB of ram so it pretty slow and the netwrok connection drops out frequantly. The live help didnt work even though i tried to connect for over an hour. The ODB cable is quite short and if like the Ford smax the ODB port is down low you feel youself leaning towards the port so not to rip it out.The live data worked as it should but so does my other diagnostic machines including andriod apps on my phone. The free 2 year subscription is a bit of a joke as it will cost almost the same every year for the subscription when it expires.I brought this after seeing an advert online and some demo's on what it can do, unfotunatly the demo was obviously used on car makes that the tool can do everything on. Their website is quite misleading!Ive used all kinds of diagnostic tools in the past which do the same and more than this car and a lot quicker. Everything seems to be so long winded, even the auto VIN takes ages and sounds like an arcade machine. Talking of the auto VIN, when you come out of a menu it automaticly reverts back to the DTC scan and you have to keep stopping it and exit every single timeIts nothing special at all and didnt do what their website and adverts say. I did wonder why there wasnt many YouTube videos about this device

L'Artidiag pro est un bon outil de diagnostic multi services avec un bon rapport qualité/prix et n'a rien à envier à des modèles plus onéreux.Testé sur une vingtaine de véhicules depuis sa réception, il fait amplement le travail.Les diagnostics sont complets et bien détaillés, ils s'enregistrent automatiquement en mémoire et peuvent être expédiés directement par mail via la connexion wifi, ce qui est très pratique autant pour soi que pour les clients.Il y a également la possibilité de faire des screenshots de l'écran pour par exemple retenir les valeurs de données lors des tests.Les mises à jour sont gratuites pendant un an et en cas de problème on peut directement être aidé via team viewer (non testé à ce jour)On peut également ajouter la détection automatique du VIN du véhicule pour un diagnostic automatique ( qui n'est pas dispo sur tous les véhicules, il faudra alors rentrer le VIN manuellement ou sélectionner le véhicule dans la liste)Il est fourni avec quelques adaptateurs pour des modèles particuliers comme BMW par exemple.Il dispose de nombreux services complémentaires comme le RAZ des freins, valves TPMS, régénération FAP, RAZ adblue, codage clés, etc etc.Bref un outil polyvalent facilement accessible.

De momento muy contento con la compra,se lo he regalado a mi tío que el tiene un taller. La máquina pesa menos de 4 de kilos , es muy cómodo de llevar de un lado a otro, proporciona de 31 funciones de servicio de mantenimiento y escaneo completo del sistema para más de 100 marcas ; desde funciones de diagnóstica básica hasta las de codificación y programas avanzadas.os recomiendo por el precio y la calidad.
