Seems ok
Very well packaged, no instructions . Seems to be nicely built. Paint look a bit thin. (Got the black one) before I installed them I read the reviews.and quite a few ppl had problems with the pegs getting stuck in lower position. I checked the altrider pegs and saw that altrider have an extra stainless steel plate were the ball bearing will ride. Those peg don't have that but if needed wouldn't be to hard to make.I sprayed lubricant pushing down on the ball bearing to make sure it stays lubricated. Also on the brackets the holes where the ball bearing will sit have very sharp edges. Which may contribute to the peg been stuck. I slightly round up the edges. We'll see how it works as I'm planning an iron butt in a few weeks.

Close, but no cigar
I'm really confused about the quality of these pegs. Before I get started on this long review, please note that they malfunctioned yesterday (5/20/23) during the first test ride. I just reached out to the seller today (5/21/23).Okay back to the long review. Initially, I was very pleased - from the box opening and all through the install. I used the AltRider YouTube video to guide me through the install. All during the install process (yesterday, 5/20/23), I was convinced these pegs had to be high quality generic versions of AltRider brand pegs. At that time the penny pincher in me was very proud for taking a risk. Before test riding, I had everything adjusted as wanted. Also I could easily open and close the pegs with minimal hand or boot pressure. Then came the test ride (yesterday, 5/20/23). I headed out of town, and rode for about 15 miles before trying to deploy the pegs. First thing I noticed, was that it was difficult to deploy the pegs from the closed to open position. while at highway speeds. Strange, since it was so easy to do this prior to riding. Yet I was able to do it though, so I initially brushed off those concerns to a learning curve issue. At about the 50 mile mark I tried to close the pegs. This was at highway speeds, and it just wasn't happening. Again I brushed it off as learning curve, and just kept them down until I got home. Once I got home and with the cycle on it's side stand, I still couldn't close the pegs by hand - even kicking them with the toe of my boot.Review modification: [After further investigation (5/21/23), I believe the root of the problem may be the spring-loaded steel bearings are tearing into the aluminum housing. I'd like to swap-out the steel bearings for aluminum bearings and see if it fixes things. Heard back from seller (5/22/23); it's my understanding they are sending replacement parts.]I still don't know the real cause. I wonder if greasing the locking bearings would have done anything to prevent the pegs from seizing, although the bearings were never exposed to water. Another thought: Surely the vibration affected things, since the pegs functioned perfectly before being exposed to the first 15 miles of vibration, and by 100 miles - they were seized open. If these pegs malfunction due to vibration (which may be likely), then they are almost worthless. This is frustrating, since the parts appear to be quality materials.I received the order on 2/21/23, yet didn't have time to do the install until yesterday (5/20/23), so I am past the return date. As of now, I don't know what the seller's response will be. I'm willing to give it another try if they replace parts. I do wonder if this is all an exercise in futility; wondering if there is no hope for these pegs without some type of fix for whatever it is that ails it. I wonder if the real AltRider pegs work long?At this point, I couldn't recommend these pegs - since 10 - 15 minutes of functional use, is just too short of time. Yet it is a mystery to me, as to why they aren't working. What causes them to seize up???

Nice Add-on Footpegs
Easy to install. Based on earlier reviews I lubricated them at assembly. I put silicon spray in the locator ball bearing holder and then greased it well with moly based grease and used locktite on screws. I also put some non-slip tape on the bar to mount it to. Just pick the sleeve size correctly and you can tighten it up satisfactorily to eliminate slipping and rotation on the bar. Foot position is much more relaxed than the stock sport-touring pegs. They feel like they will definitely help the knees on long (multi-hundred mile) sections.

Pricey, but they work well
Installed them onto the engine guards for my R1200RT. I'd prefer not to use sleeves to match bar diameter, but the kit comes with metal version that allows for tight clamping. Pretty universal, so you can orient them just about any position.

Look good, install easy, but I cant use them. Shipping times are way off.
Update, these rotate on the bar, I am afraid to tighten them anymore for fear they will break. Also unless these are perfectly level, your feet will slide off. They are very smooth under foot. I habent used them at all for this reason, pending removal from the bike. Original review ->I'd say these are great little fold away highway pegs on a budget. Nothing fancy. Based on a very well thought out design for "universal fit". Came with spare bolts, but oddly enough they don't actually match any of the other hardware. Shipping times are wayyyy off from what Amazon says but the seller did refund a portion to align with Amazon policy. If you can wait weeks for delivery to the U.S.A then go for it. Only wish it had nylon washers on parts to fill in the slop on metal to metal contact of moving pieces.
