I now have the opportunity to have music everywhere without blocking out the world. Having this ability I get to live a life to a personal soundtrack everyday. Upon getting the box an inner box slides sideways out of a cardboard sleeve. The rest unfolds sideways with magnets. The box is very sturdy and as the product is presented very similar to the care that an Apple product is packaged. This had me impressed. Inside the box is the headset, a silicone pouch, 2 charging cables, ear plugs, and a few booklets. Keep track of the charger since it is proprietary and replacements are 28.00 on desertcart. The silicone case I feel is not useful since it is small and floppy. I really had to fold the headset up tiny and wasn’t that comfortable doing that. This headset sits in front of the little ear nub (don’t know proper term, too lazy to look up). I started to get a slight earache after 6 hours of continuous wear, so I think they are comfortable and more so for some that is going to wear just for exercise. This is when I take the opportunity to charge them. After having them off for a couple of hours the earaches are gone and I’m ready to wear them again. The sound is fantastic if you take it for what it is and not expect the quality of full over ear headphones. The bass is lacking some but I feel the clarity of sound is great. If you are an audiophile these are not for you and you will be severely disappointed. There is sound leakage if you turn it up over 3/4 but I find that for the most part 1/2 is more than enough, especially for day to day. Due to the open ear design these offer zero noise cancellation but they are not supposed to. They are meant to be the opposite of noise canceling. I am the person that believes that if it is too loud then you are too old and these go beyond what I need/want. I do wear them at work, shopping, figure skating, and generally everywhere. My opinion is high and recommend them for anyone that needs to hear their surroundings yet wants music. Runners, bikers, or urban area residents will benefit from these. Supposedly, Aftershockz is aware of this. Their "R & D department is "working on this" and a "product of lower beep sound" will be "introduced to the production line" and "the volume of the sound will drop by 3dB". (Source: A contact us / support request email exchange with Aftershockz in JAN 2021. No indication of which model or when this improvement will be introduced, but I am hoping soon and that they tell us when it happens). If I remember correctly, the beeps on my older Trekz Titanium were a lot quieter. The loudness of beeps on my recently purchased (Jan 2021) Aeropex Mini is very jarring and almost painful if I am wearing ear plugs or in a quiet environment. I find that loud beeps aren't as bad if I am not wearing ear plugs, but definitely annoying and a bit uncomfortable. In my opinion, this is a SERIOUSLY BAD DESIGN decision by Aftershockz. This has CHANGED my view of the Aeropex / Aeropex Mini from a really AMAZING, NEARLY PERFECT product, to something that I am SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING RETURNING. (Since language settings can be changed by the end user, I think Aftershockz should seriously consider a programming a setting where you can mute these beeps for those sensitive to loud or abrupt sounds.) (NOTE: I tried lowering & muting my ring tone and adjusting max volume settings on my phone per other commenter's suggestions, but this has not had any effect on the loudness of the headset button beeps. They fit around the back of the head where the neck begins so the fit has more to do with your neck and the distance to the back of your ears where the pex will hook. For instance I wear a 7-3/4 or 7-7/8 ball cap and with the aeropex fit over my ears properly, I have 1/2 inch of space at the back of my neck And the aeropex band. The fit Is I'd say lightly snug but not at all uncomfortable. They'd end up irritating my ears after a little while. They'd fall out. They wouldnt stay on properly during activities. Etc.. These are awesome. I can wear these all day long and there is no irritation. If I want to listen to something and still be aware of my environment (outside at night, etc) I can do that with these. If my husband has a game on in the background and I want to listen to a pod cast, I can pop in the earplugs. They do "vibrate" if you have the volume loud. I kind of like it to be honest, it doesnt bother me. Like a weird massage. Yes, if you turn it up over about the halfway point and you are in a quiet space people can start to hear noise coming from them. However, If the space you are in is quiet, you can hear very well without having the audio so loud as to other people can also hear it. I am not an audiophile and can not comment on the bass. I listen to podcasts, videos, and music with them and I really enjoy the sound quality.
