I picked this up for the "Amazon day" price of about 130 quid (which is roughly what it can often be bought for elsewhere) after checking a couple of things with the manufacturer, who were *very* responsive and helpful - indeed, their helpfulness persuaded me to buy it straight away. (A manufacturer who instantly answers questions from someone who isn't even a customer yet gets a huge thumbs-up from me.) What I'd wanted to know before purchase was whether a mobile phone was *necessary* for the thing to work. For anyone wondering the same, it doesn't need a phone, or an app, it works fine totally stand-alone. If you can attach it, and it weighs 600g or less, you can use this to stabilise it. 600g is a fairly hefty phone. The phone holder is adjustable for balance, and it also has a 1/4" female tripod thread for attaching a small arm, mic, or some other non-phone thing (like an action cam, say). There's another tripod thread socket on the 2nd axis arm end, and another on the side of the handle, and a fourth on the bottom of the handle (so you can mount the whole thing on a tripod or rig). The phone mount part is not the easiest to adapt to an arbitrary small camera, but a 3D printed "phone-like" plate with a regular 1/4" screw would do the trick. The stabilising parameters are optimised for an average weight phone. With no load on it (i.e. a really light payload) it tends to vibrate a bit - if you're using it with an SJCAM or something and you get this, just add a bit more weight. The movement is smooth, the device feels (very) decent quality. If using the supported phone camera app, then the follow focus and so on works fine. The "record" button works like a typical bluetooth shutter release so you should be able to start/stop other cam apps. If, like me, you were wondering what the "inception" mode is, it's a thing where it continuously pans through 360 degrees - like in the film "inception", doh. Apparently gimbals all need that, these days. Other modes are arguably more useful for general film-making, though. Default is "pan follow", a kind of partially locked mode where it stabilises (really well) in roll and pitch but the camera follows any pan movement you make with your hand. There's also a fully-locked mode which attempts to keep the camera pointing the exact same way regardless, and a "pan and tilt follow" mode where the camera is only locked for roll. The camera pan and tilt can be offset in any mode using the little joystick. The trigger will re-zero it. The OLED display is clear and informative. There's even a programmable camera movement feature where you set the start and end positions using a couple of buttons and then it will move smoothly from start to end over a settable time. If you're the kind of person who likes to shoot in "portrait" mode (ergh!) then it will do that, too. It has a fairly substantial battery inside, and it will charge your phone or power your GoPro if need be. A nice curly cable for this is included. Also included is a thing that functions either as a handle extension or a mini tripod stand - handy for the auto re-calibration feature. The base kit that I got doesn't include it, but there's a magnetically attached accessory subject-following camera thing that can be fitted on top, and obviously lights etc. can be fitted. Although I was keen to be able to use this with an action cam, in fact, modern phone video camera performance is remarkably good. OK, you're not going to get the authentic look of a fast prime lens on a movie camera if you're shooting with a phone. And phones, action cams, compact system cameras and DSLRs are all typically terrible when it comes to audio. But stick a phone on one of these gimbals and record sound on a compact digital recorder with a decent mic and you could make very passable movies, given sufficient skill. It's hard to get steady shots and smooth. camera movements hand-holding a phone, but this thing improves it dramatically. In summary - I recommend this device, it is well thought out, feels solid and well-made, works really well, and even the associated camera app (needed to make use of the follow focus control) isn't bad.

I’d also recommend the AI Vision sensor (available to be purchased separately) as it makes it much easier to use the gimbal with AI tracking. It also has a fill-light with varying colours & temperatures, allowing the lighting to be perfect when filming.

Sturdy and well made. Easy to use with the app. However, the grip got really warm and the display constantly showed "error ". It turned itself off when this showed. Pity I had to return.

Really high quality gimble, a little too complex for me as I am just starting out with vlogging, but if you are good with tech, or are using it for sports, movement or want professional style videos, this Gimbal has amazing features. It is a little heavy to hold for me and has it's own case to carry it in, but it has more advanced features so it's for the person who really wants to get high quality pictures and videos and at a very good price.. Someone who has a bit of experience with videography can probably appreciate it a lot more than a total beginner like myself.

I have been shopping around for a great all-in-one phone gimbal for filmmaking and documenting some video projects, and may have stumbled upon the perfect budget friendly product! Upon unboxing the gimbal, I knew this was a quality product; the packaging is super premium and it comes with a great hardcase for storage and transportation. Super easy to setup and control via Bluetooth with the Mobile app, making it much more of a streamlined process than its competitors. The 0.91 inch OLED screen is visible in bright sunlight and allows me to adjust the gimbal modes, see the battery status and Bluetooth connection, so everything can be easily accessible on the go. The motors are super powerful - I have struggled to find a good gimbal that can handle my large Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, but the Hohem m6 keeps my phone rock steady, whether running or walking to get the perfect shot. Another awesome feature is the reverse charging which can power your phone from the gimbal whilst recording so you never have to worry about your phone battery dying whilst filming. Overall this is the perfect versatile, premium phone gimbal for those wanting to take their mobile footage to the next level! Highly recommended.

This is a GOOD device, has good features and functions, let down by the App. Some functions work without using the Hohem Joy App. Some functions DON'T work unless you're using the Hohen Joy App. So unless you use their App, you only get half a functional device!!! The App itself requires permissions which should NOT be required. The App itself will NOT connect unless you allow all permissions. I DO NOT understand why (Location and Nearby Share) is required for the App to function!!! It's probably no big deal to most people. The deal is a NON requirement is required and by which is forcing. This is not a free product with ADS!!! I Paid for it!!! I would of given 4 or 5* otherwise.

This is a game changer for anyone making videos with their phone. The auto balancing handle held stand is easy to set up and use. It allows stabilised videos when on the move to capture professional quality videos. I really like thr addition of stand for when I'm recording tiktok videos.

I'm in the middle of trying to start a sports marketing career in University and these are excellent. I mean really excellent. They're not cheap, but if you want to buy the best of the best I would recommend this company. I did a ton of research going into this because I needed to purchase a couple of these for my team, so I will simplify it quickly. The two best companies in the game are Hohem and DJI. DJI makes really portable and lightweight products, while Hohem makes heavy duty and feature-packed ones. This product has served me excellently. I've never used the app because I didn't want my videos tracked by anyone else, and I think this has held up just as well nonetheless. The optional add-on AI camera works really well and it's on sale all the time so you can get it for less than $50. I highly recommend it because it makes shooting by yourself so much easier. The battery life to these things is also excellent. They will easily outlast my phone on any filming day. They also attach easily to regular camera tripods if you want, because there is a screw in the base where the provided tripod is also attached. It charges fast too, in under a couple hours from completely empty. It uses a basic USB-C charging cable as well. Speaking of which, the tripod is amazing. Absolutely critical feature. When I am shooting I always have it attached to make the handle longer and easier to hold on to. Whenever I need to set it down, bang. Built in stand. Probably the best feature of this whole thing to be honest, I use it at least a couple times a shoot. The case is great too, makes this easy to transport and very safe. The gimbal itself is extremely sturdy and well built. I use an iPhone 15 Pro and it has no problem with the weight. One thing to point out as a recommendation for newbies using this - the first motor sometimes gets in the way of the camera when you are bobbing up and down, so I would recommend twisting it around to be facing you before you do complex movements - just a little tip! Overall this is incredibly easy to use and to pick up, I had all the basics figured out before I even opened the instruction manual. But definitely read the instruction manual, there are tons of pro tricks you can do with this thing that make it even better. If you are looking at one of these, just buy the best upfront. It will make the quality of your videos better, it will last the test of time, and it will keep your device safe. It is totally worth it and I own three now.
